WIth monsters and subclasses that are printed in two or more books they are available for individual purchase within both books. For example the Storm Sorceror is in both SCAG and Xanathar's, and Firenewt is in both Volo's and Tomb of Annihilation; each can be purchased from either source in the Marketplace.
So I was surprised to discover today that this is not true of Races. First I noticed that the goblinoid races which are included in Eberron:Rising were not available for individual purchase from Rising's Marketplace page. I went back and checked other reprints (e.g. the Duegar and Goblins in Ravnica), and see that this is a consistent pattern. I'm curious why this is? I hope that it doesn't mean those races aren't unlocked in the character builder when the "secondary" source--the one without them in the marketplace--is purchased.
At the very least, I would like there to be some sort of note on the "secondary" marketplace page, directing folks to the primary source to purchase individual elements. I realize there are very few customers who purchase individual items, but as one of those customers, it is an improvement I'd like to see.
It's something that has already been discussed internally as an area where D&D Beyond could improve.
As we move forwards there are going to be more and more sourcebooks, so this issue is likely compounded when that Goblin has been reprinted in say 5 or 6 sourcebooks.

The way I understand it, the race is unlocked if you buy the whole book. I remember this being asked about goblins in ravnica.
