Okay, basically, my character has two books. One is the book he started out with due to having the scholar's pack at the beginning of the campaign; I talked with the DM and got permission for it to be a a guide on the Moonshae Isles, where our campaign is taking place, sort of a Moonshae Isles Adventurer's Guide, written by my character's father, as he was a wandering explorer. I write all of this in the custom description of the item, and even add a custom name, Moonshae Isles Adventurer's Guide. Then at the end of our first session, one of the other party members that my character has really hit it off with gives him a book she just bought him as a gift, a book on enchantments and potionmaking (extremely relevant to him as a wizard who specializes in enchantments). But when I try to add another book to his inventory, it just adds it directly onto the first book, as in, now it looks like my character has two copies of his father's Moonshae Isles Adventurer's Guide. Could there be a way to add items so they don't stack on top of existing items, and you can customize them separately with flavour text?
I mean, you could, but then it can't affect the weight limit, and by the end of the campaign he's gonna be carrying like thirty books on him at any given time, which doesn't seem quite right? I realize that not everyone plays with weight capacity in effect, but I like to use it as a reminder that hey, my character probably couldn't carry the entire inventory of a small book store on his back at once lmao. I tend to use the "other possessions" area more for small trinkets that take up little to no space or weight.
You could create a custom item called "A collection of books" and set the custom weight that you update after you add books, then list the books in the description. Or create custom items for each book with a unique name.

The best place for such items is in the "other possessions" area of the inventory management. :)
