Please add a checkbox to the long rest pop up which says something like “this rest includes a dawn.” This then resets any ability or item (bag of tricks, driftglobe) which resets every dawn. By default, it should be checked.
It would be better if the dawn button was in no way tied to rests IMO, and preferably somehow under DM control.
The other issue with this is that many Magic Items refresh a random number of charges (1d3, or 1d6) per dawn. There is no way for the system to automatically make such rolls at all, let alone making them for multiple items simultaneously. In addition, there is “officially” no d3, only suggestions on how to simulate one with a d6. I have asked a Mod about the possibility of adding a d3 to DDB’s system expressly for making magic item charge refreshes more convenient and they informed me that, since WotC does not officially recognize the existence of actual physical d3s (which do exist), the contract they have with DDB therefore precludes their original inclusion in this system. 🤷♂️
