I have had this issue before and solved it by just erasing my cached images and data on chrome, but this time even after that it's refusing to load a somewhat sizeable selection of images (as in I don't have to look for long to spot one or two of them missing.) and I have no idea what else to do to fix it.
My avatar was the most noticeable one, though others were images in some of the modules or the DMG and PHB. It seems vary selective. Reuploading my avatar fixed that issue and I don't really check stuff enough to have an idea off the top of my head what was missing. I'll keep this updated as best I can when I notice something missing though.
edit: I've just noticed that my Avatar isn't loading once again. So there's that...
Edit 2: this time not even reuploading the image for my avatar is working either.
Here's all my character sheets that are now missing images. I would scour the monster list, but it seems that sometimes the image is only missing in the list and not on the monsters actual page (e.g. as I just found with the Adult Red Dragon).
Turning off my extensions and a hard reset has fixed the issue.
Though that being said, when I tried the last solution you posted it made things worse as after trying that it wouldn't even load the box for me to comment on forums which was interesting, though irrelevant.

huh ive had this issue alot the last couple of months with
monster's
caracter images
caracter backgrounds
some magic items
so i guess ill check those links out to see if it works
