this might sound dumb but how do i change what type of eldritch cannon i currently have build and shows under my bonus actions tab? i see that it only has the flamthrower one listed as a bonus action and the other ones are just listed at the bottom with descriptions and health values but no option to roll for them and stuff.
You change it by selecting a different Option in the character builder for that PC.
The Eldritch Cannon type isn't a Character Builder option (you're probably thinking of the Armorer.)
To make the non-Flamethrower cannon types visible in the Bonus Action Attacks, you need to click on their description snippet in the Bonus Actions area, then in the sidebar Customize to "Display As Attack".
But there's a reason why those don't show up automatically - Protector doesn't show any details in the Attack section, while Force Ballista erroneously adds your INT modifier to the damage, so you'll need to Customize Force Ballista to subtract the INT modifier (e.g. if your INT mod is +3, put -3 for the "Damage Bonus".)

ok i see what your talking about with it adding your int modifier, is that just something they need to fix or should my int be added to the number? sorry if these are simple questions, im starting my first campaign and want to know as much as i can going into it, like at least how my character sheet works lol
No, it’s not supposed to add Int to the damage, but the system is set up in such a way they can’t turn that off. It’s been an issue since the beginning, so don’t expect it to be fixed any time soon.
I went to Features and Traits and clicked where the cannons were listed with their Hit Point Counter. When you click on them individually, the Sidebar Statwindow appears and, I clicked on Customizationfeature, and then checked the "Display as Attack" Box. Then it would appear in the Bonus Action section.
I have now all 3 cannons displayed (my preference), so I can readily use the correct one at any time.
The Force Ballista does show the that your INT modifier has been added, you can correct that in Customization by minusing the equal value in the Bonus Damage box (if you show 2d8+4 for Damage, then enter -4 in box).
I think the reason the Protector Cannon does not display Stats or have an activatable button...It's a healing action and not a damaging one. They may want to fix that by giving the button a Green Border for Healing versus a Red border for damage...Still, they could have added the range and a description in the note's column!
