I'm having trouble getting access to the dunamancy spell list for my character. I wanted to add Gravity Sinkhole, Immovable Object, Pulse Wave, and Magnify Gravity but can't. I even tried to create them as homebrew and when I do that I see the spell listed as a Critical Roll spell (I have purchased all the required books) but it won't show up in my characters spell list. What am I doing wrong?
You need to read the section about dunamancy in the EGtW book.
The spells are not meant for just any wizard, certain spells are only available for Graviturgy Magic subclass and some are only available for Chronurgy Magic subclass.
For them to be available for other wizards you are in homebrew territory. Your available options:
Option 1: Create a homebrew copy of the Race or Subclass you want to use for the character, create a feature and in that feature use the Additional Spell List section to add all the specific Dunamancy spells. It may be best to set the feature to be hidden using the relevant checkboxes.
- OR -
Option 2: You can make a homebrew copy of the spell and in the "Available For Class(es)" box remove everything there and then put in Wizard. It is recommended to rename the spell to avoid confusion.
-
Option 1, is neater because after making your character you can remove the race/subclass from your homebrew collection. This will prevent other people in the same campaign as you accidentally using this and getting access to spells that, Rules as Written, they shouldn't be. Homebrew in your collection, which anything you make is automatically added to, is automatically shared with everyone in the same campaign as you which can cause confusion. Option 1 is therefore neater because it is easier to add and remove to your collection on an as-needed basis. Option 2 is more convenient if you will always have the Dunamancy spells available for all wizards in every campaign you will ever participate in.

Ahhh... so I'm dumb and didn't read closely... Not going to lie, that does sound like me...
Dunna worry, it's very quirky and a lotta peeps miss this.
