My book is finally preparing to ship but it's just disappointing that I won't even have it in time for the actual release tomorrow, despite having preordered it way in advance. And they still haven't emailed the preorder bonuses nor responded to my ticket for it. I wish they would give us some consolation on this.
I ended up just picking up the alternate cover from my FLGS yesterday. Had I known that physical copies would be available with them the same time the digital copies were launched for the master tiers, maybe I wouldn't have gotten the bundle anymore. If this happens again for the other books, I know I'll be cancelling.
Once they get this sorted, they need to figure out where the failure occurred and have a fix in place to stop the issue before it becomes a debacle on the next two releases in Nov and Feb.
I preordered my books months ago. I also received the cancellation email from dnd beyond, after I'd already received my digital 2024 PHB.
I opened a ticket with the support site, linked all of my information, added screenshots of the issue, and it was days before I received a separate email from dnd beyond about the cancellation.
My order has still not shipped, and I've been charged for it on my Paypal, but as of yet, I have only received a copy-paste response to my open help ticket with dnd beyond.
I'm sure this means my physical copy will not even arrive on time at this point, if it ever does, and I'd like to know what's being done to correct this issue.
Does anyone know/understand that, if we opt out of attempting the reattempted charge 2024 PHB from the digital+physical pre-order bundle, we still keep the pre-order bonuses? See email reference below
We are reaching out to you due to a recent failed transaction for your 2024 Player’s Handbook preorder on D&D Beyond. In 24 hours, we will attempt to reprocess the order so you can get the product you ordered. If you would prefer to opt out of the re-processing for this preorder, please reach out to Wizards Customer Support. Please use the following subject line: “Opt Out of 2024 PHB preorder”, and ensure you include the e-mail address used for your order on D&D Beyond. Also note, you still will receive all preorder perks that you are eligible for based on your original purchase. We very much appreciate your patience!
I was charged 72 dollars when I ordered the physical and digital bundle on the 3rd, and my order was canceled because of the payment tech issue on September 11th. I was given a code to reorder, but what's the status of the bundle I pre-ordered since I was already charged 72 dollars? I submitted a help ticket, but am waiting for a response still Please advise.
There's been absolutely no response to any of us who have evidence we've been double-billed other than to treat us as if we're mistaken
It's not impossible I'm mistaken, but my PayPal and credit card records are not showing a simple hold-and-refund like I'd get renting a car. As far as I can tell, the Wizards is just ignoring my problems and telling me I have to be mistaken.
I got an email telling me to follow directions of a previous email...which I never received.
Since my physical Player's Guide got cancelled, the bundle discount on all the digital items was removed, now charging full price for those. I was billed the ~$73 (likely for the digital portion of the bundle) which is available online. The ~$40 (the same amount the email said couldn't be charged) is still being held as a "pending" charge on my card account.
So it appears that the PHB I ordered is pending for shipping. Looking forward to getting it, though it is sad that I'm getting the PHB last even though it was a preorder (I made my order in June). Well after the GenCon people and those who opted to purchase the book via their FLGS. I hope this issue will not be repeated when it is time for the DMG and MM to ship.
That aside, maybe someone in this thread can help me understand the payment process that is being used.
When I initially preordered the bundle, an email from PayPal stated that I authorized payment to Wizards for the amount of $194.91. So far, so good.
Then the snap happened.
I received the dreaded email from Wizards advising me that my payment was unable to process and consequently canceled. I checked PayPal and discovered that of the $194.91 that was authorized as payment to Wizards, $73.08 was actually charged, which (I'm guessing) covers the amount for the digital version of all three books. Is this accurate so far?
After generating a ticket, I waited a couple of days until Wizards notified my that they would attempt to recharge me for the book.
I finally received an email from PayPal that Wizards charged me $40.61 for the book (after free shipping discount and added taxes). I followed up by checking DnD Beyond and sure enough, a separate transaction, under the same order number, shows the new purchase for the PHB and is pending shipping.
Is the $40.61 on the new charge the full price of the book minus a discount for the digital book purchase or a discount for the hardcopy book only? The $73.08, which I thought was the total for the digital books, doesn't add up as each book in digital format is $29.99. Was the $73.08 a discounted charge for the digital books?
I also recieved an unable to process payment and phb cancelation email. I sent a request #4077702 email to support but have receieved no response for that request. Will the bundle discount on all the digital items be removed, and will they charging full price for a another? I placed another order pro-order bundle but it says I purchased the digital copies so I'll be getting charged 149.99 for the physical copies. I was billed around $67 back in August, does anyone know whether the discounted price would be applied to the new purchase? I cancelled the pre-order after the email so I could purchase it again, but came across the issue above.
Has anyone who's orders got reprocessed over the weekend, and status went into "Preparing to Ship" actually have confirmation that their book has shipped? I'd like to get confirmation that the "Preparing to Ship" is not another limbo, where the book will be help up, especially since we were charged for the book now.
I'm not sure how WotC distribution center works, so not sure when to expect the book to ship.

Mine is saying shipped. If I click on track shipment it does bring me to fedex and show a tracking number. Fedex status is label created so Fedex doesn't show they have picked up the package yet.
after the initial cancellation, and receipt of the form letter response, received a 3rd email order was confirmed a couple days later, then got another email rightafter that which stated order was cancelled again .. no charges or pending charges showed up on the paypal or credit card I have linked to my account...I seem to be stuck in some order loop and still have not heard from customer service directly.
I've had my order cancelled twice, and I went ahead and got the alt cover book from my FLGS so I'm actually tempted to just let it be cancelled and instead spend the money on the Fantasy Grounds version to use with my online group.
After the first cancelation I added 2 alternate payment methods to my account to see if maybe they'd attempt to charge one of those, but it doesn't look like that happened.

I got a tracking notice after getting the successful notice over the weekend! Have Hope!
I'm also stuck in the cancelation loop, but I still have my ticket open with support. I do not have great confidence that I'll be getting my physical copy, but I will hold off on buying it elsewhere. I am considering pre-ordering DMG and MM elsewhere as a backup if I run into this problem again later with those books.
I've gotten both confirmation and cancellation notices that came at the same time. This was Saturday. I submitted a ticket yesterday and got acknowledgement of the ticket. I begin to suspect my book won't come on time. This, coupled with the login troubles over the summer, and the other sad choices made by Hasbro are annoying. This game should be a source of joy--not anxiety.

Imagine that!
Good timezone, all! Very happy to see some resolutions have happened over the weekend.
I'll be taking a look at what I missed from the last few days and getting the updated lay of the land.
