So I am trying to set up homebrew feats for the Dragonmarked houses (since we aren't getting an Eberron book any time soon) and am stumped with one feature i thought would be simple to program- I
want the feat to behave like Magic Initiate in the 2024 rules, Fey Touched, and Shadow Touched, where you gain one casting of a spell for free AND the spell is added to your known/prepared spells.
I can add the spell and put in a number of free casts per day but I don't see a way to add to prepared spells anywhere. Is this not a feature? or am I overlooking something somewhere?
There is no way for a homebrew feat to add a spell for casting with spell slots.
Only Species and Subclass are able to do that.

"You always have these spells prepared, and you can cast each of them once at their lowest level without expending a spell slot. When you do so, you can’t cast them in this way again until you finish a Long Rest. To cast any of these spells at a higher level or a second time prior to finishing a Long Rest, you must expend a spell slot."
If thats the case it is kinda ridculous you cant homebrew features that are in the book --
Seriously WotC i reconcider my master tier sub more and moreevery month...
