First, I'm not sure if this is the right place to report this.
Second, I'm not sure if it's a bug, or maybe a feature that hasn't been implemented yet.
However, it seems when I select from Tools > Mark all read (or something like that), nothing really happens. I realize this is most likely super low priority, but I wanted to mention it, nonetheless.
Currently when there is unread posts in a thread or forum, the speech bubble on the far left will have 3 dots in it to show you this - marking as all read clears these.

I know this is an old thread, but I noticed that reading every thread in a forum does not make the three dots of the forum bubble disappear. You can manually click the forum bubble to mark all threads as read and the dots show up again when there are new posts or theads in a forum, but they seem to never go away automatically. It works with the thread bubble though when you have read all posts.
It does not update for me, even if I reload the page. I have read every post in the News and Announcements forum for example (not opening new tabs, but refreshing the page every time), and every bubble in that forum has no dots in it. Still, when I go back to D&D Beyond General (by clicking on the link on top of the page), the bubble for the News and Announcement forum still has the three dots. They never go away unless I explicitly click the bubble. Then the dots appear again when something new is posted within the forum (as it should be).
It is a minor inconvenience, but I still wanted to put it out here.
Edit: I just noticed, that the dots in the bubble for the Bugs & Support forum (incorrectly!) dissappeared after I wrote and committed this post. I have not yet read the other posts, and the unread threads still appear with dotted bubbles within the forum.
Edit 2: The dots appeared again after that first edit.
It's working on my end when i use The Mark as Read - clearing the dots. It's also working when I open an individual thread and then refresh. I'd say that it might be related to browser caching,. Can you try clearing it and see if its the same? Alternatively seeing if its the same of a different browser (or using Chrome's incognito mode).

Yes, those methods work for me too. But I expect that reading every thread or marking every individual thread inside a forum (News and Announcements for example) as read should clear the dots of the forum bubble on the Forums overview page. It does not do that for me. I have to either click the bubble or use Tools -> Mark All as read to clear the dots.
It also has nothing to do with caching. I logged out and then logged in with private mode on a different browser, and the forum bubbles I did not clear manually still show the dots.

Thanks DnDB Devs! Keep up the great work.

I also ask a lot of questions; insatiably curious

If you are opening threads in a new tab/window, then yes - the original one doesn't update - you would need to refresh the page.
