Individual players can create their own accounts, although the minimum age may be 13, given that that's the standard minimum age for online accounts. The accounts themselves are free, although only the material in the Basic Rules, SRD, and Elemental Evil Players Companion is free. This means only 1 subclass/archetype per class, (e.g. only life cleric), only certain spells, 2 feats, etc. If you want them to have access to more, you would have to 1) buy the content you want them to have access to (or take the time to homebrew it), 2) By a Master Tier subscription (unless you homebrew everything) and 3) set up a campaign here and send them invite links to it.
If you haven't actually purchased any content or subscriptions yet, you could (assuming he's old enough) have your son set up an account here, purchase the content you want them to have access to, and then have your son work with his friends (in person) to create their characters in his account and then print out the sheets for them to use during play. With 7 players, though, he would need a Hero Tier subscription to have enough character slots. If you/they want to use their phones, tablets, or laptops during play, though, they would have to have their own accounts, and someone would need a Master Tier subscription so that content could be shared.
Hi There,
So I have joined D&D beyond so my son and his friends can start playing D&D.
I want them to do the work of creating their PC's in D&D Beyond, that's basically only why I have signed up.
But Twitch looks like it authenticates my email address if I want to access D&D Beyond.
Can they all long on from their own computers with their own email addresses to create their characters using my log on.
Trying to get to grips with all of this.
Cheers Paul
