Per RAW, as he started as a barbarian, he shouldn't even GAIN the monk's unarmored defense style, much less be able to use it with a shield
I'm surprised no mods have commented on this yet.
I can recreate and confirm this bug.
Specifically: the barbarian's unarmored defence does not prevent the gaining of the monk's unarmored defense, and the monk's unarmored defence works with a shield when it shouldn't.
