Hey, just found this. I can confirm it still doesn't work and it's not just you. Actually I figured it out, posted how below.
Ok I figured it out! The item needs Bonus > Initiative, and then under ADDITIONAL BONUS TYPES select Proficiency Bonus. Hope it works for you if you still need it.
