I'm sorry if somebody already posted this but, I noticed today when my players reached level 6 and I was helping our cleric level up that there is an error in the forge cleric's settings. I noticed that Soul of the Forge gave the character a +1 to AC even though he is only wearing medium armor which means there is either an error in how soul of the forge is implemented or the description text is wrong.
Soul of the Forge
Starting at 6th level, your mastery of the forge grants you special abilities:
You gain resistance to fire damage.
While wearing heavy armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC
Would you be able to share your affected character, please? Additionally, please ensure that you have equipped a set of heavy armor to your Forge Cleric.
The error occurs when you are NOT wearing heavy armour. I see the bonus from Soul of the Forge when I have light or medium armour equipped, but it should only be added when I where heavy armour.
Hello, DND Beyond folk - question I hope is posted in the correct place.
I have a Forge Domain cleric, High Elf, that just reached 6th Level, and gained the Soul of the Forge class feature. This grants fire resistance as well as +1 AC while wearing heavy armor.
While my High Elf Cleric is proficient in Heavy Armor, he is currently equipped with only wearing a Shield and leather armor, which is light armor. With his shield, the armor, and his +3 Dexterity Modifier, he should only have an AC of 16 - instead DND Beyond shows it as 17, and clicking on the AC in the Character Sheet shows it is because he is benefiting from the +1 gained by Soul of the Forge. If I remove the Leather Armor, he loses the bonus granted, and his AC becomes 15, since the Leather armor is base-AC of 11. If I add something like Padded Armor to him and equip that instead, the result is the same, save for the Stealth check disadvantage of the Padded armor.
Is there something I should look for in my character sheet that is turning Light armor into Heavy armor and triggering this bonus? Or should I use the Override AC function to disable it until my character wears actual Heavy Armor?
I recognize this is more a DND Beyond thing and not a "rules" thing, but I am unsure if there is something I am overlooking that may grant my character "any armor you wear is considered heavy" or something strange like that.
This is a bug report for the Soul of the Forge class feature for Forge Domain Clerics, which is found in XgtE. The bonus of the Soul of the Forge feature is being applied to any armor, not just heavy armor, as it is written in the feature description.

I was told I could post this bug here, but I was unsure if something like this was due to a feature on my character sheet that may confuse it and say "light armor counts as heavy armor" for you. I do not think this is the case now however. If I provide any armor to my character, he benefits from this feature, instead of just heavy armor, like the feature describes. I supplied several different armors to him to test this, and anything I equip seems to be counting as "heavy armor" for this feature. (The shield makes no difference.)
The character does not have a Strength modifier (score of 11), and Encumbrance is used on this Sheet, but I think since it is happening with whatever armor I put in his inventory and equip to this character, the bonus still applies.
I am going to override the AC in the same detail window to ensure I am not giving myself a +1 erroneously from this feature until I equip actual heavy armor on the character, but am pointing out this feature in case it is an actual bug!

I was able to confirm this on a character wearing light armor and medium armor. I checked the homebrew system and there's only modifiers for "Armored Armor Class" and "Unarmored Armor Class", with no stipulation on the type of armor.

"Starting at 6th level, your mastery of the forge grants you special abilities:

The character sheet is still giving a +1 to AC no matter what kind of armor is equipped. I know there's an existing Thread about this, but it doesn't seem to be gaining any traction so I'm making my own.
When I equip any armor it still grants the Soul of the Forge bonus to the ac, even though it is not heavy armor. (Light and medium both. Tried multiple types.) "While wearing heavy armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC."

Sorry about that! The systems that implement functionality for races/classes/items don't (currently) have the ability to define such prerequisites.

I am seeing this as well

Thank you, that is helpful! I'll raise a ticket for this issue.
This bug is still active.
This is still a bug please fix

Sounds like a technical limitation. They can limit the bonus to wearing armor, but not the type of armor.
In the meantime you can manually set your AC to remove it.
