This might have come with a site update 7/27/2019 - as it was not functioning this way before.
This is bad 1) adds delay by adding required additional clicks 2) adds increased server calls for more help page calls for every single edit. 3) gives no help, as the info is so basic as to be pointless beyond the first-ever use of the webpage
If this is intentional, please change back. (This appears to have been a bug.) If this is a bug, please help.
When creating a character, you can decide whether the help pages should display or not, by toggling the "Show Help Text" box on or off before selecting your character creation method.
This wasn't in new character creation. This was in established character editing.
For some reason it has switched and is no longer happening. So technically, my issue is resolved. For documenting purposes, it continued through multiple refreshes and a browser exit, restart. Going to view character, then to edit. I don't know what caused it to stop.
I wonder if somehow the "Show help text" was triggered by another feature.
I've messed around with it a bit. I haven't been able to replicate it exactly, but I think I know when it happened:
On Ipad, from Chrome, in certain circumstances, such as Chrome being shut down with multiple tabs open, then restarted later, the info on some tabs is not retained. This is evidenced where a Tab with a Character Builder open might revert back to a Character Builder start page, while a tab with a Character Sheet View does load. Perhaps this is a cookie issue, on refresh. But at this point, the Start Form with Help option is visible, and clicking away from this page might retain that yes/no help-choice box info. It's not clear what point in editing clears this help-choice box. I don't see a manual way to uncheck this, but it does clear/fix itself eventually.
As I said, I haven't been able to replicate the bug completely, but this is my best guess.

When in the Character Builder, clicking between tabs now defaults to "Help" page,
which is dumb.I.e. clicking on Attributes, takes to page explaining attributes, rather than attributes. It does this for all tabs.

Hi there Marsupial,
I'm not aware of any changes in how this works.
