We have a player who cannot make it tonight. He finally made his character public, but when I attempt to view it, it shows the dreaded "Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our Retrieve Character check" screen.
I had asked whether or not there took some time for the setting to take effect, and the twitter profile pointed me this direction.
Still not working for me. What changed that fixed this error?
Are you using a VPN? More specifically are you using Nord VPN? If so, see this article. One of Nord VPN's features doesn't play nice with DDB's website.

A quick check of the console tab shows three 403 errors:
character-service.dndbeyond.com/characters/v2/infusions/known?characterId=4681806&campaign=422076&sharingSetting=2:1
character-service.dndbeyond.com/characters/v2/vehicles/components?characterId=4681806&campaign=422076&sharingSetting=2:1

Yes, with Nord VPN you need to turn off the CyberSec feature.
