Currently when you click on the "View Monster Page" link, it takes you to a similar page as the full monster list when you expand the individual view but with a better image (if avalaible) would be good to also have a detailed description for these. For example, what is an ankheg and how best to describe it to players? This may all be added later, but definitely wanted to point it out.
I completely agree. Especially when I click on the details for a monster that I'm not familiar with I'm more concerned with that monster's appearance, history, behaviour, etc, not just another page showing me the same information.

Is odd that it doesn't take you to the compendium entry, that has all the information you are looking for.
You are of course absolutely right! I had no idea that the Compendium entry had different information. And that it's formatted differently. How strange.

I think part of the problem is a lot of monsters exist in the "basic rules" without the compendium information -- For example dragons exist in the basic rules, but the descriptions about their temperment, behavior, and lairs do not, those are in the PHB. The compendium information is behind a paywall to access. I agree that it should be in the monster listing, and maybe if you don't have the content purchased you see what is available via the free content/content you have purchased thus far and see a note that states "If you buy the PHB (or whatever sourcebook), a more detailed description of this creature is available" then if you have that sourcebook purchased, the info is there in the listing.
I think a link to the appropriate Compendium entry would work just fine. If you hadn't paid for the content it would do exactly what that does now, take you to the Market Place for that content. It's a win for both sides, we get quick & easy access to the content we paid for, they (meaning DNDB) get another chance at a sales pitch :)

I don't like it because it's an extra click -- If I link the monster in the tooltip like Goblin I would then click the monster to get the "complete description" monster listing, then have to click within the "complete description" monster listing again to get to the compendium. Why couldn't it just be listed in the complete description?
edit: I don't like the extra link, but I agree that it's better than what's currently available (nothing that links the monster listing to the compendium)

The just put an extra link in the main monster listing, so you can either choose either the (SRD) Detail *or* the Compendium.

I'm just going to pop in here to agree with all of this.

Thanks very much for that.
