From a development prospective; having the option there and not fully functioning is kind of a feedback nightmare.
It should probably be removed until the full feature is added.
------
Alternatively, the feature could be left unfinished in order to test how desired the feature is and if it's worth building out. In which case, others should not be discouraged from adding to this thread as long as it stays on this thread.
I understand having a thread to determine the desirability of a feature but my comments in this thread are more to address those who seem like they are entitled to this feature as if it is some bug they are waiting to be fixed. There's a massive difference between "I would like this feature as well" and "why hasn't this been done yet, how do I contact who's in charge?!"
Commenting that you would like the feature to show the demand is helpful. I am happy to encourage this.
Whining impatiently that this should be done already/"still waiting!!!"/etc is not helpful - there are a lot of these already in this thread. This should be discouraged as it is very disrespectful to the hard-working developers.
I am not posting to discourage others from posting, just trying to ask that if they do post it is done with respect.
I was mostly trying to convey that and offered a helpful alternative in the meantime.
Note: I was not indicating Exodra's post was one way or the other, as they could very well have just been wanting to convey they want this feature as well to whoever was in charge. my post was made to answer them and add a just-in-case part because their post could have gone one way or the other. It seems they did not take any offense to my post either, since they thanked me for it.

Haha, I literally just started trying to create the Epic Boons as feats in Dndbeyond. Came across the Boon of High Magic in the DMG, and tried to add an additional 9th level spell slot, using the spell slot increase option. It didn't work, checked the conversation above, and see that this has been requested to be fixed/updated for nearly two years now. I don't think I will hold my breath, but maybe by leaving this comment, it will get pinged again by someone who works on the site.
They are aware users would like this and there is a planned overhaul of the homebrew system. It is possible something will change then - which may be around late 2020 or early (ish) 2021. It's quite a wait, I know, but it's very complicated.
It's not going to be fixed or removed before then. Please do feel free to register your interest in this feature, just please be aware such change may take some time.

As was said above I sat down to create some of the epic boons as feats to give my twentieth level players and ran into this "upcoming" feature. I'm glad to see that it is planned for and I hope for other tools that make customizing the online character sheet easier. I can also understand the frustration of seeing a "coming soon" sign (the fact that it shows up in the homebrew maker) and then waiting three years without hearing anything. I would certainly appreciate a posted message under any "incomplete" options in the homebrew maker stating it's unfinished nature, just so it's not reported as or treated like a bug.
I'm glad I found this thread and I hope to see the new functionality soon.
Same here. I would really appreciate it if you guys over at the developing team will make it happen soon. Still using MPMB for some characters because of this.
Still no options for it. It should just be removed at this point.
It's a planned feature so removing it, only to end up adding it back in, seems pointless.

It certainly shouldn't be removed. It'd be better if it was marked as unfinished to avoid confusion. It wouldn't be worth it to do that for just this though. I think going forward they should label any unfinished material that's still visible to the public as "coming soon" or "in development" so that people don't see it and get confused like I did. That would be nice anyway.

Or just make the text grey instead of black so we know it’s not selectable.
Not much of a coder so don't know how simple of a fix this is, but when attempting to create a homebrew feat, I was aiming to increase a players spell slots. Specifically choosing a 3rd level spell slot to increase. I thought it was pretty nifty that the option exists within the "add a modifier" option, but when you pick the option to add a spell slot, it requires a value to be put into the modifier subtype to be saved. Yet since there are no modifier subtypes arranged for this modifier to appear in conjunction, it leaves you with an open box. But since that box is a requirement for you to save the modifier, you can't do it.
Not sure how able this is or if im in the right section of the thread. Recently got dnd beyond and am loving it so far.
Public Mod Note
(MellieDM):
Moved to compiled thread.
My DM has given my character a boon that grants her an extra spell slot. So I tried to create a homebrew feat to do this for me. However when I choose the modifier type "Spell slot increase" there are no options in the "modifier subtype" combo-box and as a result I cant save the modifier. This would appear to be a bug of some-sort?
Is there another way of getting extra spell slots on a character in the character creator?

Well cannot wait for this to happen because my player keeps forgetting about ti by himself.
Agreed. It's out there but not working. If it wasn't out there, that'd be fine. But don't offer me something if you're not going to provide it.
Played D&D a couple of times now, love it. Have a new son I'd like to study GM'ing for in case he wants to play some day.

Either fix it or remove the option
Agreed. Fix or remove please.
Please don’t remove it, please just add the subtypes. I was just about to use this to create a feat for a character.
