I experienced (am experiencing) the same problem right now and starting last night. I did some investigating and can confirm that it is my NordVPN causing it. Turning the VPN off isn't really an option (screw ISPs being able to collect & sell your data), so have tried hopping to different servers and for the most part US & Canada are out, though it is inconsistent (meaning I've found a server that wasn't working, then randomly reloaded DDB and the character sheet popped up). I also confirmed the same behaviour through the VPN on an iPad (currently on a Windows PC). And it's only the DDB CS, hence being able to write this.
Does anyone know if this is a DDB issue or VPN issue? Yes I know the problem is related to the VPN, but the VPN should just be a passthrough and I wouldn't think that it could cause the issue. If someone knowledgeable knows this is definitively a VPN issue I'd be grateful to know so I can start trying to find a resolution through their helpdesk.
FWIW, a little side note, I've found that whether I can access my DDB CS or not is in lockstep with another website/extension that I use (Workona).
For anyone that has had similar issues, NordVPN has a "feature" called CyberSec. It's worked pretty flawlessly since they implemented it (at least for all of 2020 that I recall), but as soon as I switched it off, all of the "broken" sites loaded right up. They don't have a local blacklist filter, so it's either off or on. Something must have changed on their side recently. I'll submit the sites in hopes that they whitelist them on the NordVPN side, but we'll see. At least it's working now. Hope that helps someone else out.

Hello,
Basically whenever I try to access my characters on D&D Beyond or the sheets of my players in my Campaign I get the following error message:
Whoops! We rolled a 1 on our Authentication check. We're heading into town to visit the blacksmith for repairs.
Try again after a Short Rest.
I've tried disabling all extensions and I've tried using a different browser (use Firefox, tried Chrome) but neither worked.
Weirdly enough I can view my characters using my phone's web browser.
Not sure what else I can try at this point so some help would be much appreciated!
Are you using a vpn? Sometimes they don’t play nice with DDB.

Thanks
It's a Nord issue. They have an article on their site about what to do if you can't access specific sites. You can find it here.

Fantastic! Definitely a few settings I can experiment with. I'll post back here results if I find a specific setting.
Thanks for the tip, @ArwensDaughter, definitely the hero of this thread.
