I'm homebrewing in my table ruled human-only version of the Prodigy feat, which includes one point in an ability score of the player's choosing in addition to the other benefits of the normal prodigy feat.
I can't seem to make the modifiers work. I've tried to build it from scratch, but the system doesn't seem to support allowing an ability score increase choice with the tools supplied.
I went at it from another angle, choosing an existing feat that allows a choice (Dragon Hide), but when I try to edit that modifier, it doesn't appear that the option to allow one selection of multiple ability scores is exposed to the user. In fact, if I make any alteration at all to it, the ability score increase no longer shows a choice under modifiers at all. Am I missing some obvious way to allow such a choice?
Hi Adam, I posted this in the relevant changelog thread, but since it is relevant to this thread, I've found some similar issues with homebrew feats:
While race and subrace prerequisites may be being enforced for official feats, the builder does not recognise qualifying prerequisites on homebrew feats. For example, using Prodigy as an example, I have selected it as a template, renamed it and saved it with no other changes. When creating a 4th level human, half-elf or half-orc character with homebrew allowed I can see the Prodigy feat but not the copy. At the same time a different homebrew feat with no prerequisites is visible.
The "Choose a Skill", "Choose a Tool" and "Choose a Language" options are not appearing as valid modifier subtypes under the Skill, Language and/or Expertise modifier types.
I wanted to make a feat which gave a choice between Dexterity, Charisma, or Wisdom. But... It isn't an option. Is it because there is no offical feat that has that option so it isn't in the template? I had a similar problem with the Exandria guns reload and misfire property in that there was no option to just make your own with a score of a gun that doesn't officially exist.
Is it because there is no offical feat that has that option so it isn't in the template?
Yup. Possibly in the future with the upgrades to the back-end system more flexible homebrewing might be possible, but it's a big might, and far in the future (on the scale of years).
I did that and it didn't work. I'm a variant human and it lets me choose a extra feat so i chose the feat that i made which is supposed to let me choose between strenght and dexterity. I chose dexterity and when i came in the stat page it didnt have any stat increase. Do you know how to fix this?

When editing your Feat, you need to look at the MODIFIERS section (see image below).
When editing that modifier, you simply select the stats that the player can choose from:

I'm going to work on a tutorial for Feats homebrew over the weekend. :)

@Stormknight Maybe there's a permission issue? When I open the Modifier subtype, I don't have any "Choose..." options in there.
It looks that way - I'll flag this one as a bug for staff to look at.

I think I know the answer! Thanks, @BadEye! This site is awesome, really really enjoying it so far.
