"You can also cast the spell using any spell slots you have." - currently does not work.
I get a first level spell with the "Use" button instead of the regular "Cast" button. It can be "Use"d only once per long rest (it becomes greyed out after single click), and cannot be cast with regular slots of 1st or higher levels.
I believe that is an intention design thing to distinguish where the spells come from. You can manually mark off the spell slots, but the use button is for the single free use of the spell.

You just have to tick off the spell slot checkbox manually to cast it using a spell slot. They used to implement things like that where they would add the spell twice, once with the “Use” button and again a second time with a “cast” button. But folks complained about how cluttered up it made everything so now they just do the “Use” button and we tick off the boxes manually.

Well they are trying again with the new lineage UA to go back to the two buttons. So I guess we'll see if people want it again or not.
I definitely want it for the convenience of using Beyond20, it would speed up the things during session by putting the results instantly into the virtual tabletop without me having to roll the dice and to tick slots manually, which I might simply forget about due to this implementation being so different from the rest of the casting.
I was just noting this as well. It would certainly be more convenient to automate the process. A second option could be to have the feat add it to the spell list so it would appear twice, once with 'use' once with 'cast'.

But now upcasting has to be done manually.
