One of my players rolled a new level six Drow Paladin with the Dueling Fighting Style and a shortsword. The shortsword added to his inventory (just a common shortsword) is currently giving him 1d6 + 12 on hit with his dexterity of 18 (+4). As far as I can tell the only thing he has that gives him any additional damage on hit is the dueling fighting style giving +2 on hit. Which by my calculations would be 1d6 + 6. We have two other short sword users with similar dexterity and they both get 1d6 + 4. Am I missing something somewhere?
It sounds like the option has been selected multiple times (can happen if there was multiple tabs of the same character open when editing).
Can you change the fighting style from Dueling back to nothing (the defaulty dash option). The sheet will probably jump back back to Dueling, keep doing this until it no longer jumps back and then select Dueling - you should then have it set correctly.
That fixed it thank you! We both had the edit form open when we made his character so it probably happened then. Will avoid doing it that way in the future.
