Hi. Just trying to read the Player’s Handbook via my iPad (which is set to dark mode), and the Handbook isn’t rendering correctly. I deleted and re-downloaded in case a previous update had corrupted anything, but no joy.
Is this a wider issue, or is there something I can fix? Other books I just checked are readable, if a little rough around the edges in parts (I assume due to how they cope with dark mode).

p.s. I realised I didn’t describe whatI was seeing! 😅 Black screen with very dark blue text, to the point of ineligibility on some pages…
Sorry not to get back to you sooner. I’m on what I think is a slightly newer iPad Pro (10.5”), also on the latest iPad OS, and the PHB displays o.k for me. Sorry I missed that you has specified an iPad in your first post. Is your iPad set for light or dark mode generally?
I’m generally set to dark mode, but I just switched to light mode and it hasn’t changed the appearance. Looks like I might have to try a delete & re-download of the App itself and see if that helps..?
Deleting the app fixed the display issues.. I’ve had it downloaded since it first came out - must be some internal cache or similar issue that meant it wasn’t working properly… *All* the books looking *much* better now!

Not working properly in the iPad?
Your best bet is probably to contact customer support (contact us link below). I have seen very few reports of this issue, so it may be device or device setting specific.
I do see the same thing. Did you file a support ticket as I suggested above? If you want the Devs to see it, you will have more luck there than posting in the forums.

It looks ok in the app on my device (an iPad Pro). What device are you using?

I’m on the original iPad Pro 9.7 on the latest (non-beta) iPadOS version.
The other books appear to be rendering okay (I have quite a few downloaded) - this is specifically affecting only the players handbook.

Maybe? I know that's a pain. I don't use the app a whole lot, but I do know that deleting and redownloading sometimes clears other issues.

I have the same issue
Except it’s with “Book” mode
About to delete & reinstall the app
Also only w/ the PHB… no other book to my knowledge
Wish me luck on this troubleshoot
Results:
Fonts in “Book” mode still dark
However, all of the imagines are now showing up
I didn’t know they were supposed to so that’s cool
Has anyone on the DnD Beyond team been notified

Can someone check this out for me please?
Open your DnD Beyond app on your iPad
Open your PHB
Toggle “Book” mode view
Then let me know what you see?
Also, open any other digital book in “Book” mode & see if there’s a huge difference?
I just took a look, seems okay to me - looked at both PHB and DMG…
Is there a way to upload .jpg here in the forum?
It only looks normal to me on my iPhone but iPad iOS is very dark & pretty hard to view
You can upload an image to a service like Imgur and then post link to that here.

However, I hadn’t shown them these screenshots
I have a feeling none of them actually checked what I’ve reported on an actual iPad Pro or iPad Mini
I think they just used a regular iPad where the issue may not exist
I’ll send these screenshots in a little while
Here’s their last response to me, August 9th
”As I said, I've raised it with the dev team - until they advise me further, there is nothing I can do. You need to wait until they have investigated.
In the meantime - use the website, not the app.”
