I am still unable to successfully download the Monster Manual and Basic Rules (presumably the determining factor is file size). When i try the download gets a bit past halfway and then just disappears as if I'd never attempted it. (Moto G4, Android 7.1.1).
At this point, I'm figuring that it hasn't been fixed either because:
1) Not enough people are having the problem to make it a priority or
2) It's a hard problem to fix.
It's a beta, so that's ok. And I guess I should just assume it's not fixed until a dev shows up to say it is (he did say they'd let us know) or it shows up in a changelog. So at this point, I think I'll have to put the app aside and check back every week or so.
I purchased the Monster Manual on Cyber Monday($20), but I can't download it.
Also, its saying I can now purchase it for an extra $10 on the website but at full price within the iPad app.
Not sure what is happening here. Also got Volo's guide to Monsters at the same time and there's no issues there.
As ccherrera mentioned, it sounds as if you unlocked the Compendium Content Only, as seen on this marketplace page. The compendium content only allows you to read the digital book (in-app and on the website) but does not give you access to the listings nor do your characters have access to anything that book would have provided.

EDIT: Mr_Bidwell, I'm sending you a private message. :)
So i have further evidence for an apparent 10 minute time out on a download (besides the fact that the download always stops at 10 minutes). I finally got to a place with substantially faster internet than my house and was able to download everything fine. But this is still a substantial problem for me because I'm rarely in such locations. Part of the appeal of the app is not having to rely on constantly awesome internet connections. I don't mind waiting a long time for a download but not being able to do it at all from home is a bummer.
So I also had/have the problem discussed in this thread, I see some people talk about the app being in beta, I don't know if it still is? But anyways I tried downloading the Basic rules document and was meat with the same long download time and eventual, unexplained cut-off from the download. I changed the internet access to my 4G and the download time was drastically reduced, from like 1-1/2 hour to 1 min. and the download was fine. So to me, it seems like size/download duration problem.
My question is: Did I accidentally find the solution, as I see there is some time since anyone has posted on this forum, and the problem is solved in some other thread. Or was this a happy accident, I would like to know before I commit to buying into the service.
Having some similar difficulty with the app at the moment. I purchased the Lost Laboratory of Kwalish and can read it if I just use Chrome on my phone, but the app will not download the book. I don't actually get a loading bar at all, just a "Downloading..." message when clicking on it in the compendium screen. I'm using a Moto G6, with the latest version of the app. I've tried reinstall of the app but to no avail.
Having an issue myself with this. Xanathars Guide to everything downloaded fine on my tablet, but my phone keeps having issues, everything else works fine. But not this book. I have got to the point where it shows as 'install' but no progress bar appears and nothing happens. Even if I go in via my content, the items above and below can be downloaded but nothing happens when I click on Xanathars.
I managed to work out what was happening, if my network changed mid way through downloading a book it would render the book unable to download. I had to uninstall the app and redo it that way on one network only. Made things frustrating but manageable.
I updated to the latest App with the new offline listing support. I see on all my content that an update is available. I tapped each book. Each book now has a download symbol, I tap those... and nothing. All my content is now gone and not downloadable.
I have cleared the cache, cleared the data, uninstalled (several times), restarted, powered down, verified that I have 25GB free storage on my phone. Tried it when I had wifi enabled, when I didn't have WiFi enabled, when I was tethering, tried turning ON the wifi restriction and then turning if back off again. Nothing.
running Android 8.0.0
App version 1.1.08
UPDATE: I did nearly everything that ccherrera did (deleted the apps mentioned that I had, wiped 2.9GB of photos, and powered off for about 10 minutes) no change (not that I thought it would, but at least I tried).
UPDATE #2: When I request the download, I get a message telling me the # of bytes that will be downloaded and I respond with an OK. Then I get no feedback whatsoever. No downloading indication at all.
Same here. I purchased the Players Handbook. And I see it in my content, but when I press OK to download it, it does nothing.
On My Account, tap on your avatar, then on Custom Service. There, you should be able to update the Manifest.
This does nothing for me. Tried it 3 times.
Well, my tablet had like 60 apps waiting to download and update. DnDBeyond went through an update, and lo and behold, my new content is there now.
This didn't work for me but what did work is I unistalled the app and then re-installed and that did the trick.
My app has downloaded the books but now crashes when I open any of them. That's sort of a win ...

OK. I just noticed something when I tried again tonight. The download always seems to stop at 10 minutes in.
Is this just a timeout setting that needs adjusting? Is the app set to cancel a download after 10 minutes?

But, on the website you can see the book? or did you buy the compendium only version?
I specifically remember buying the Sourcebook, it's easy to remember because of the big red rebate that appeared on Cyber Monday.
Also, the compendium is still available to purchase.

Same problem: can't download Basic Rules Compendium because it would take 14 minutes to complete.
Android 8.1.0
Edit: The download has just been finished. Don't know why; either the Internet / server load become better, or something was fixed.
I hope other people will have it too.
