Why is it that trying to make a homebrew is absolutely nightmarish when the blood hunter is involved? Currently made a reskinned hexblade and when putting it into characters, with mind you not too much changed, no spells are able to be picked. Not a f-ing one.
Why do you hate people dnd beyond? Why do you refuse to function unless people put all the money into you? This is honestly why dnd is still an outliner in entertainment industry. When just starting will either cost you hundreds of dollars or its equivalent in man hours ( and not always actually be functional) like...no thanks skyrim is right there and like can be on a multitude of systems for various prices.
Oh wait it's worse than initially thought. Even though it says 'you can share homebrew with others in your campaign' the little caveat they don't mention is the 'only with subscription'. Wow, but then I guess enough people are like into other absolute sinkholes of unbridled capitalism like spodify and any 'live service' game, eh?
There is no difference in functionality when using the homebrew tools between having paid for anything and not. The homebrew tolls are set up as a public facing version of the content entry tools, there's no intent to make them arbitrarily difficult to use. D&D Beyond is just a complicated system due to D&D being a complicated game.
I'm curious as to the issue you might be having with your homebrew, you say "when the blood hunter is involved" but then say you've made a reskinned hexblade. Are you homebrewing for the Warlock or Blood Hunter class. If you provide a link to the homebrew, maybe a moderator such as myself can have a look as to what the issue is?
Finally, there is no subscription required to share homebrew content in campaign, that only applied to adding public homebrew to your collection from the community listings, or sharing paid content via a campaign.
I actually figured it out eventually, well not the homebrew blood hunter thing, that just sorta…fixed itself-ish? I dunno. I'm generally grumpy about working with dndbeyond because there's a lot of technical shit that I have to bounce around, or well pay out the butt for it (which I a, refuse to do, and b, couldn't afford to do even if I wanted to.)
tldr: I'm whining into the void, and yes their were actual questions in in but there but I've more or less figured it out.
I'm also experiencing issues with homebrew. For some reason, I can't create a copy of an existing monster. The monsters aren't showing the dropdown menu like they should. Is there anything I could do, or is this a technical issue that the D&D Beyond Team has to fix? All that happens is the list of monsters shows if I scroll down, but they don't do anything. You just see a long list of monsters, but you can't copy any existing content.

Is the monster one you own, or is it one you have access to via content sharing? You can only copy monsters you own
Now I successfully copied a monster, and realized that the homebrew editor is actually a big mess. It seems like it got updated, but this doesn't seem like much of an update. It's much harder to manage. Instead of dropdown menus, the options are shown on the side of the screen, which can be an eyesore. Everything just got more complicated. This will take some getting used to.
It seems like it got much harder to add saving throw proficiencies, damage adjustments, subtypes, and condition immunities, not to mention copy an existing monster.

Hi there. I spend quite a bit of time in the homebrewer working on everything from Backgrounds to Subclasses, so I’m pretty familiar with the system. Maybe I can help.
I just checked a random one of my WIPS from about half of the categories, specifically including a Monster. It looks the same to me as it has for the past couple of years now. What you’re describing sounds to me like it might be interference from something.
Are you perhaps running any ad/popup blockers, browser extensions, or even a VPN that might be interfering with DDB’s display? A common culprit for stuff like this is often the Beyond20* extension, but any extension could be the issue. Even something that seems like it would have nothing to do with anything could be inadvertently shifting things on you. The first thing to try is turning all of that stuff off and see if it’s fixed. (Safe bet that it will be.) Then start turning them all back on one-by-one to determine which of them is causing the interference.
*(Beyond20 is a third party extension not supported by or affiliated with either DDB, or Roll20.)
