The solution is literally in the comment right above yours. To create a fourth Attunement slot, you will need to create a custom Feat for it in Homebrew. You can have up to six Attunement slots. If you need more, the workaround would be to copy whatever items you need via Homebrew and remove their Attunement property.
Worth mentioning is that you can now (maybe you always could, but I can't recall) have a magic item that sets the attunement slots. So you could have a ring that gives you an extra attunement slot if you so wish.
It's important to note that the modifier Stormknight mentioned doesn't add attunement slots, but sets them to a fixed number. This number is capped at 6.
If you want an item that give you 1 extra attunement slot, you'll need to make an item that sets attunement slots to 4
