Building a new character and I'm trying to purchase some mundane items from the item list, but that's not possible. I can add the items, but then I need to manually remove that amount of gold from my inventory. This becomes even more difficult when there's no prices listed on any of those items, so I have to go back and forth between the PHB and the character sheet.
Secondary request: When scrolling through items have the QTY already in my possession shown. Because of adventuring gear I can't remember if I picked the one with caltrops or the map case, and it would be nice to see that while shopping.
Seconding this request -- I'm a bit surprised that there's no "buy" option when adding items to your inventory. You can now see the amount of gold any item costs, but you still have to manually subtract the amount of gold from inventory after adding the item. Seems like this would be a fairly simple fix -- add a buy option.
Fixing this "problem" would create another--you'd have to adjust gold etc anyway, unless your DM never ever creates custom prices or allows negotiation.

Allow the option to buy or the option to add, that is all. If you're buying at a rate that isn't standard, then add and adjust. Otherwise, just hit buy.
That's why I said at character creation. But 90% of the in game purchasing is mundane items that would still be faster with the Buy option and then adjust it manually at the end by the 5 or so gold pieces.
PS: Milwaukee too? Did you see the Brewer game last night?
I just started a new campaign and one of my players had this very problem. The time it took t go back and forth during character creation took a lot of the fun out of the customization of the Gold option of character creation. Please have a "Buy" button that links to the character's money. Even if the main button is the current "add" button a "buy" one would help. Oh and shopping trips would be so much easier.
Customization of the item's price would be nice but honestly as a DM I'd rather spend my time roleplaying than making up adjusted pricing for everything.
As a DM, I don't want to have to babysit four or more players as they go shopping through the city, often all in different directions. Those game sessions always feel like a waste of time. We should be able to adjust vendor percentages and rarity and let them do their shopping all at once and on their own. For a player, to have to do the math for a four or five tiered monetary system produces a real pain in the butt that shouldn't exist. Add the fact that prices (even general or suggested ones) don't show up on every item, it really kills the mood of having to value hunt through books.
Thank you all for your contributions. This thread has died of old age. Let's not dabble in the dark arts such as necromancy and let it rest in peace. If you wish to continue this discussion. Please create a new thread on the subject.
Thanks again for understanding.

Another vote for this feature. Adding a "buy" button would be great.

I would love to see this implemented and I wholeheartedly agree.

Just adding another vote to the thread. Please add a buy button in addition to the add button. Love you guys.
+1

and NEVER cut a deal with a dragon!
Just having the buy option using the standard pricing in the PHB would be great and appreciated!
Need to add my voice on that.. Please include a Buy option. It's kinda ridiculous that there's none already.
