My group and I love the site and want to use it but the problem we have (as I am sure many others have here as well) is we already purchased the physical books and don't want to buy them again.
This has probably been brought up before, but why don't you offer a subscription option that includes all of the content (say $9.99 per month)? This seems like it would ease your barrier to entry for a lot of players/groups, while also having the benefit of NOT competing with physical book sales by WotC.
The way I see this working is one player (DM) would pay the $9.99 sub, while his/her players pay the $2.99 sub.
I could even see this being offered in customizable packages:
Master Tier + PHB + DMG+ Monster Manual: $9.99 per month Add Sword Coast: +1.00 per month Add Mordenkainen's: +1.00 per month etc...
Keep Adventure modules separate I'd say, but allow the option for a Campaign Group to split the cost evenly.
It can ease entry to know that you have many more options than just "buying the books again." You can buy individual pieces that you need for the character creator, like a race or a feat or a spell, and the cost of purchase is deducted from the price of the book if you later buy it digitally. A master tier subscriber can enable content sharing on the campaign, after which content purchased by anyone in the campaign can be shared to others in the campaign, not just from the DM, so you can spread costs around the group this way. And finally, you can recreate any content for personal or campaign use with the homebrew system for free with a bit of work, provided you don't publish it because it's copyrighted work.
For the monthly costs you're proposing ($20-$30 per group) you could easily buy the core books and share them with all your players within a few months, or the players could individually buy the pieces of content they need for their characters.

Thoughts?
You are correct, this has been extensively hashed and rehashed, with discussion gathered here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/d-d-beyond-feedback/5743-d-d-beyond-pricing-purchase-faq-discussion
