I have a group of folks that i play with and i create a new campaign for each gaming session. How can I move the same characters from one campaign to another. We are not quite done with the first campaign however I want them to join the next campaign that will start within the same session. When I send them an invite, the mobile app doesnt let them join the campaign. Its just disabled on their app.
A character can only be in one campaign at the time.
There's no good solution to this problem, but is this really a problem? Campaigns are mostly to keep a cluster of characters together and manage content sharing. Why do you need to make a new campaign for the same characters?
Well maybe I just need to rethink how i build things. I use campaigns differently i guess. I build a different campaign for different scenarios/adventures that they will do so that I can isolate them away from one another. As they travel from one clue to another, it moves the characters around different parts of the world I created with different objectives. I use them to chain a series of adventures together with different objectives and encounters and descriptions. Appreciate the feedback
They can copy their character (the option is right there between edit and delete on the list of characters page) and join the new campaign with the copy. If they are at the character limit this won't work otherwise it seems the solution you want. Then once he old campaign is over they could delete the original, edit the copy to remove copy from it's name, bing, bang, bob's your uncle.

Yeah, campaigns on DDB are designed to be used differently than that. You can always edit the notes and descriptions on the Campaign page to adjust for those changes by setting up whatever’s next in the private notes section and then copy/pasting that info into the public notes section as needed (and vice/versa for long term info tracking).
What if I have the character and want to reassign it to a new player. The copy function works, but there's no way to reassign the new copied character to another player. Once its "outside" the campaign, there no way to unassign it or reassign it.
It strikes me that this is only a problem if you want to have the same character in more than one campaign at a time. A DM can remove a character from an existing campaign then the player still has the character available in their own personal account to join a new campaign you might be running.

If you're in a campaign together, you can unassign the character in that campaign, and they can claim it.
