I tried to do some searching but is there any easy way to change how spells show on the exported character sheet? It is stupid that the online one shows damage and other useful info but then the exported one doesn't show something as simple as damage. Thanks.
Yes there is. When viewing your character sheet, go to the Spells tab, click a spell in your list. A pop-out appears from the right of the screen. This popout has a "Customize" choice. It has a field entitled Notes. Entering info there will translate to your PDF "Notes" column. As one of folks who requested this feature, I'm ecstatic to see it functioning (thanks DnDBeyond!).
This is what I have ended up doing. I just wished we could control the columns. The sheet is do dang "busy" with information that really isn't useful. Just very suprising that they have never built in the capability to have different formats or just the capability to pick columns.. Thanks.
The bard's magical secrets are not replaceable with higher level spells at later levels. There isn't an easy way to get around this other than homebrew feats to add spells.
I believe that A bard’s magical secrets cant be replaced, except by aBard spell when you level up.
Correct, however the only way to replace the magical secrets spells are by editing the character class ability "Magical Secrets".
It SHOULD let you choose any bard spell you could choose at your current level, but at the moment it just lets you re-pick ANY spell you could have chosen at that level.
I think this has been mentioned before but it would be great if there was a buttons that would activate modes depending on what your character class is (like rage or bladesong) and all your stats would change over then you could turn it off once your rage or bladesong or whatever ended. Is there any progress/update on that? Thank you.
Why don't we have any honor or sanity ability score toggles in character creation yet? Is it because this would result in adjusting the standard array and the point buy system?

They're not part of standard D&D 5E.

It has come up many times and is on the docket. No ETA.
I have a homebrew race, that grants the Thorn Whip cantrip at level 1. I have created two characters of this race; one is an NPC, one is a PC now claimed by that player in my campaign.
The NPC (not in a campaign, to stay hidden from players) has the cantrip listed.
The PC (in a campaign and claimed by the player) DOESNT have the cantrip.
From what I can tell, the cantrip disappeared when the player claimed their PC.
Edit: I created a test character in the campaign but unclaimed, with the same race/variant/class/background, and the cantrip shows up just fine. Only the player-owned character is missing the cantrip.
How do we fix this? It took a lot of convincing to get the players to use D&D Beyond in the first place. They haven't noticed this glitch yet, but when they do it will cause issues.

Do you have Content sharing enabled on that campaign?
I didn't have Content Sharing turned on, no. I do now, and I see the cantrip has appeared again. Thank you, seriously.
Why is that? I only left content sharing off because I didn't find anything that explained what content sharing was. I was thinking it was related to streaming, and therefore I didn't need it.

Content Sharing allows players in a campaign to share owned materials within that campaign. For example, if one of you owns the PH and another one the DMG, all players would have access to those...

That feature is the sole reason I bought a subscription, so my players could benefit from my purchases within the campaign. I just didn't realize I had to switch it on, or that "Content Sharing" was the term for that, and the prompts around the button didn't offer any clarity (basically just "are you sure you want to turn this on?" with no info about what "this" was, no tooltip, etc.).
The weird part was I could see a second spell the race granted, which was a homebrew spell - and in hindsight that makes perfect sense, if my own homebrew material is always shared in my campaigns, but purchased content (like Thorn Whip) is not until I enable Content Sharing.

Thank you both for clearing this up.
That whole system is getting a big overhaul in the near future (AKA Source Management on the dev schedules). Soon it will be a lot more granular, you'll be able to choose what gets shared with whom. This will help prevent DMs from having to share entire adventure sourcebooks with players. Hopefully there'll be a bit more explanation to go along with the updates.
First just wanna say that I love the site and everything you guys do! I can't wait for the app itself to support character sheets as well, since I'm almost always on mobile. But I'm pretty sure I've heard this is on the to do list already, and I'm sure you hear enough about it as is, so I won't bug you guys about this haha
Anyway, sorry if this is in the wrong thread, or if it's already been suggested, but I've just been disappointed for the last year or so that when you share your Public character sheet with others, the Notes, Description, and I think a few other sections are still Private!
I can definitely understand if some people want to keep their backstories a secret, but personally I like to share my info with other players.
So I guess my suggestion would be to maybe add an additional option to either hide or display the Notes sections. I know it might be a bit redundant, but I think it'd be a great addition!

They're not part of standard D&D 5E.
Maybe not, but they are an optional rule in the 5e DMG and there are other optional rules already built into dndbeyond like encumbrance, feats, and multiclassing. Yes those are more popular optional rules, but that doesn't mean that there's not an interest for honor and sanity... At the very least sanity.

Yes, but everything you mentioned is in the PHB. I'm not arguing that you're incorrect or that there isn't interest. In fact, I'm not arguing at all. I'm just pointing out they're probably not high on the priority list. But I'm only making assumptions based on the fact that they're not standard rules and they don't get much play. I could be completely off base. :-)

I would just like a better print version of the character sheet if possible.

if i add expertise to a skill, the bonus doesn't show up on mobile, only desktop or (I'm assuming) tablet. but phone view doesn't display it.

I agree. The spell section in particular needs a lot of work. Spell effects should show on export.
