The new version of the Wizard class does not enforce a maximum number of spells a spellbook can hold.
It does say that the initial spellbook a Wizard starts with at level 1 has 100 pages. However, it does not say that every spell takes up an entire page, nor does it say you can't add pages to it or create a new one that has more pages in it.

It works precisely how the spellbook work. Your spellbook has no max limit. This is official rules. If you have the time and gold you can copy every spell into one spellbook, because "spellbook" can be any number of things, spread over multiple books, a jumble of pages, engraved stones, a psionic gem, or any number of things that fit cosmetically and approved by DM - and all Rules as Written.
