I hope this is the right place to post this - if not PLEASE let me know where!
I want to get into a campaign that is welcoming of people that are completely new to D&D. I have a history of playing lots of RPG's for a couple decades, but thats about it! After watching Critical Role for the last while, they have inspired me to join this community and get into D&D.
Also, a side note, I don't even know if I need to buy my own dice or anything else to play in a campaign. I need help guys!!
If you are looking to play in person, and have game stores in your area, check with them, as they may run tables some nights that are open to new players and newbies. Buying a set of dice isn't a bad idea. The typical sets have 7 dice: 1 each of 20, 12, 10, 8, 6, and 4 sided, plus a second 10 sided with two numbers on each face (00, 10, 20, etc.). This last is sometimes called a "percentile" die.

I'd suggest heading down to the "Looking for Players and Groups" forum to find some like-minded gamers. Also, welcome to the community!
