Hello! Call meTana. My pronouns are She/They. I am a teenager. I have Autism and ADHD. And, you would probably call me Trans Femme, Genderfae/Demigirl, Pansexual pancake, and Ace I will mother you if you are being stupid. ALL HAIL MERLIN! [roll]1d4[/roll] + [roll]1d4[/roll] + [roll]1d4[/roll] + [roll]1d4[/roll] + [roll]1d4[/roll] + [roll]1d4[/roll] = [roll][roll:-6]+[roll:-5]+[roll:-4]+[roll:-3]+[roll:-2]+[roll:-1][/roll] I have adopted Golden, Salem, Wes, Aspen, and Foalin.
I wonder how many of these complaints are proper assessments and how many are just kneejerk reactions to change.
The previous menu actually had a lot more complaints than this one has gotten. Strange that.
This is the big sentiment, are there some things I do not like of the new layout, yeah,. But none of them are any more than "Oh right I have to go here now for this...." Or "Oh that is now a click click, Vs a click."
I prefer this UI even if some of it means I need to learn some new muscle memories.
The one thing that has surprised me about the redesign is it feels much more intuitively designed. I assumed I'd have some friction with my muscle memory, especially with the forum button moved under Community. But nope, everything is an almost zero-thinking required navigation. Want a book? Library > Pinned or View All. Want Map? Play D&D. Want a monster? Rules > Monsters. Everything just flows logically.
I think the rules tab is the biggest change I am enjoying. I really like all the things I might need to look up in a single column list, VS 3 randomly selected (I say that because species is the list common thing I have ever needed to look under) parts of the rules being large icons and everything else being to the side. I always took me too long to find magic items, because well my eyes were drawn in the wrong direction every time. Even when I knew I did not need to look there.
Honestly, I don't like the layout, the sizes don't make sense, there should be more contrast on alternating rows to give a more distinct barrier, and some sections like the favorites are far too limited.
I have a bigger beef with the main page that was clearly designed for mobile and because of this is empty of useful information on a monitor with a reasonable sized screen
On the whole, I think the changes are positive... but there are a few things I find annoying. In the Library, I really wish I could pin a book (specilically the PHB) both in my most recent and in the full Library. I'd also prefer the books I own to always be at the top of the Library by default. But my number one pet peeave ont he Library: I take my D&D seriously, so there will never be reality where I buy Acquisitions Incorporated or Rick and Morty, so I really want to perma-hide that nonsense.

Something to keep in mind is that all the sorting and filtering options on that page are included in the URL, so if you set it up the way you want and then bookmark it, those options will be used again when you click the bookmark.

Now, see I could tolerate a single line or single 'recommended' item being shown from what I don't own. A fair concession to the company to allow them to market at me. However, on the whole I'd like the library page to be only what I own or have access to. And I do agree, being able to entirely hide sources because of lack of interest is a perfectly reasonable thing. Personally, I'd hide all partnered content. I'd never buy any 3rd party stuff on DDB largely because when I buy elsewhere I get the PDF free (or for a smaller price). Why then would I restrict myself to DDB's awful system?

I also prefer the new layout, even if it needs some getting used to and probably some fine tuning here there.
They do seem to be actively fine tuning it. They've added the rules glossary link, and removed the double subscribe buttons after feedback

Completely User UN-friendly. Added several extra clicks and navigations to get to information that used to be one click or one quick search away.

For instance, if you filter to "Owned", it sets the URL to this: https://www.dndbeyond.com/en/library?ownership=owned
pronouns: he/she/they
