Color me disappointed. I had to look at the stupid rainbow colors on the logo for an entire month, but they couldn't be bothered to do an American flag theme on the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States?
If you're going to remind me of the real world while I'm playing my escapist fantasy RPG, at least acknowledge the home country of D&D.
Genuine question; what is it about rainbow colours that makes them 'stupid'?

"Pride month" is stupid; why should people be proud of being gay, or straight, or whatever you are? There's nothing wrong with being who you are, but there's no reason to have a month-long party about immutable characteristics. That's like being proud of having two eyes. Save your pride for things you ACCOMPLISH, not things for which you expended zero effort.
So yeah, the rainbow flag thing is stupid.
And if the DDB team thinks putting the rainbow colors up is important, why is recognizing Independence Day not important?

The reason there's a pride month is because being LGBTQ+ (pride is not just for gays) has a long history of persecution. Even today, there are those trying to take away basic rights. In history being LGBTQ+ has resulted in lynching, being put to death or classed as mentally unstable and locked in asylums, forced into traumatic conversion therapies (that fail and are extremely harmful) and more. Some places in the world still make it illegal to be such. There is still a fight to be recognised as equal. Same reason Black History month is celebrated. You are not ever persecuted for being a white American. Nobody has ever tried to make you feel sub-human. You don't need to remind people that you're human too. We do. So we celebrate being what we are to remind us and others of what we have had to overcome. To remember those who was shunned, beaten and killed for just being themselves.

Do you feel that being American is one of those things you ACCOMPLISH that it's okay to feel pride for, rather than something for which you expended zero effort?

Pride month is about feeling the antithesis of the SHAME the queer community have and are forced to feel by bigots. It's a celebration of not being ashamed of those immutable characters, despite what people might try and make them feel.

It's not stupid. It's us fighting.
