This is a functionality request that is absolutely vital imo.
With the Combat Manager can you please include functionality that will allow us to trigger the addition of a specific monster from a unique URL. When triggered the URL should do the following:
prompt the user to select how many of the monsters are added
add that many of the monsters to the active combat
My specific use case would see me triggering these external to D&DB.
I mean considering we only have the barest idea how the combat manager works, seems a little earlier to being saying there are any 'absolutely vital' functionalities at the moment.
Why would you need to be able to add a monster from a URL? If you're in the combat manager, the monsters will already be there surely.
I presume you're referring to some tool here on D&D Beyond (it'd be rather silly to put feedback here of something D&D Beyond didn't make) but I've checked the news and announcements, changelog, and gone through every link in the navigation menu. No sign of a Combat Manager here. What am I missing?

Because I use 3rd party campaign managers to launch my game. In my case Realm Works but you could do this in other systems like World Anvil or OneNote also. Basically Realm Works have automatic cross referencing. So by having topics for each monster I literally just have to type my notes or cut and paste an adventure in and it all cross references up automatically. If an Orc is mentioned in my campaign notes, a link will appear to link the word Orc to the Orcs topic.
So with that in mind I have a topic for each monster. It contains the stat block, info, pictures and most importantly a Hero Lab Snippet. The Hero Lab Snippet is what I want to be able to replicate. It is basically a button that triggers the monster to open up in Hero Lab. You click it and you are prompted to say how many of those monsters you want to add to combat. You click ok and the monster is there for you to start rolling dice. You can look up the monsters stats and manage their initiative, hp, status effects, etc.
So from a process perspective. I read my notes, click the monsters link, click the button to send it to combat management and off we go. it takes a couple of seconds. It's a very efficient process and thus something I wish to see implemented here. If they can apply a unique URL to each monster that we can take and use as we like we can invent new ways to make our combat more efficient.
Have a look at THIS video. It shows the process I described above.
I'm not keen to go down the path of having to switch to DnDBeyond, search for the monster, add it. Too many clicks. If that's the path they go down I'll choose to simply keep using Hero Lab for combat management. I don't know if this is a simple request. Hopefully so. But I imagine people could make good use of it and it would allow DDB to start integrating with other applications which will bring in more customers.

I’m guessing they are referring to the Encounter builder that Adam has talked about. (In the Dec 6 update he showed us a wireframe for the feature)
