Feature request: Now that I finally have my 2024 Player Handbook, for the love of all that is decent and holy, (a) can I please see the new book under Sources! and (b) can I get a toggle or something so I can stop seeing the 2014 Player Handbook like I'm living in 2023! Let's get with times already! it's been like 10 minutes!
The lack of a 2024 character sheet redesign seems like a missed opportunity. I'd like to be able to tell at a glance if my players are using the 2014 or 2024 sheets. The current sheet is fine—very functional—but it's also starting to feel a bit dated.
It would be great to have some options, maybe even as a nice perk for subscribers. I'd love to see character art featured more prominently, and I'm a sucker for a well-designed layout. If you Google "pretty DnD character sheet," you'll find so many amazing ones out there. Players love customizing and taking ownership of their characters, and having a visually appealing sheet would really add to that experience.
I don't want to use Zendesk for this as this is a platform that can track requests as easily as Zendesk and doesn't require additional work for something that is meant to be fun, not "feel" like work. I use Zendesk for work and I don't want to put D&D anywhere in the same ballpark as it is what I use to GET AWAY from work and relax after it.
Because dndbeyond digital content is sharing through one individual, often but not always the DM, that means that you're marketing to one individual per campaign...it would make sense for there to be an easier way for members of a campaign to contribute (dndbeyond gift card or online credit) to their DM or whoever is sharing the content so that it can be enjoyed by all members of that campaign. Small donations like 1$ per week per member wouldn't be too hard for a lot of people but if the campaign goes for at least 6mo and there's at least 2 people, that's a new book 2x per year per group.
It's the same principle as this dumb Zendesk idea...make it easier for people to do something and they will, make it harder and they won't. Make it easier for yourselves to make money and provide an easier way for people to crowd source their content and it will happen...make it more difficult for our voices to be heard and you'll get less voices.
Can we get a configurable True Strike that you can roll attack and damage (weapon and extra cantrip damage) by clicking? For instance, you can choose the weapon from one of your equipped weapons, and it will add your attack and damage bonuses from what you picked with the Magic Initiate feat or class. I tried to homebrew something, but there might not be a way to do it with a +3 weapon, without increasing all other spell attacks by +3.
1.) (and you may already be aware of this one) Potion of Healing in 2024, under Adventuring Gear, is still listed as only healing 2d4+2. Since both Cure Wounds and Healing Word spells were updated, I had expected that potions of healing would likewise be improved in efficiency. Was this an oversight, or are we just waiting for the Dungeon Master's Guide to be released and make any changes official? Also, if that's the case, will the printed version have incorrect information regarding this item?
2.) Add a stackable option in homebrew magic items. I've made such alchemical items as tanglefoot bags, smoke bombs, liquid ice, and other items of that nature, but on the character sheet they won't stack, so a list of a dozen of the same item sprawls down the sheet. (One work around I've found is to make the item a potion, but most of them are not actually potions, so it would be better if we could just make identical items stackable.)
3. Allow the creation of homebrewed mundane equipment. If I want to homebrew a weapon with different properties, like a bo staff that works as a quarterstaff with the finesse property, I have to make it as a magic item. ... which it is not. Same for items like alchemist's fire, and containers and similar items. Allowing us to homebrew nonmagical items would be a nice feature.
4. Allow us to delete items from our homebrew library ... I know there's an option to "Remove items from our collection," but frankly, it doesn't seem to work. My players can still see duplicate items that I tried and later removed, because DND Beyond won't let me actually remove them. There should be an option to remove an item, shared or not, from our viewing pleasure with the click of a button. (I get that other players in other games may have adopted items once they've been shared, but realistically, those items should be copied into those players' homebrew libraries so we can keep our own library neat and tidy and more easily accessible.
With all intended respect... just a few suggestions that would make your product more appealing.
For the DnDBeyond app on iPads and simmilar mobile devices, being able to chosethe resolution of images would be lovely. So we can opt to have the full-size HD images & maps if we want to save them or blow them up or print them out. But we can also elect to have smaller low-rez images if we just want to see them on our device.
The books on the app are great and all but are a HUGE space hog, being 5-10x the size of a PDF.
I only have six books on the app and it's occupying a gig-and-a-half of my iPad's storage. In comparison, my collection of Vampire the Masquerade PDFs (over fourteen full-sized books and a bunch of smaller docs) is just under a gig. I cannot keep my entire book collection on my device and have to pick-and-choose which books I want to have downloaded at any given time.

The option to have a second "true" hidden species in the case of lycanthropy (ex. werewolves) and lineages (ex. vampires). While you can have a private character in a campaign your species still shows and I would like to say people don't meta-game taking away that temptation and also having that grand reveal after 20 sessions would be far more effective if it showed Human instead of one or the other.
I know you can also have a Custom Lineage but that just makes it obvious for the curious that something is off.
Please allow us to toggle 2024 content in the same way we can now toggle 'Legacy' content. At least for Spells, it's a nightmare slogging through all of the new versions of spells when I'd just like to keep my 2014 versions.
Could we get (or perhaps I am just missing?) an option to ‘buy’ items instead of just ‘add’ them? With the 2024 rules giving lump sum gold options, it would be nice to be able to spend that gold with a single click instead of needing to add the items and then also adjust gold manually.
It would be great if you could roll the dice to "preview" it before purchasing. There are several I am somewhat interested in, but it would fully depend on how they roll/effects as to if I would want to actually purchase them.
Dice Collection:
It would be nice to have a grid view similar to the characters/campaigns pages, make it easier to see all your dice in a "smaller" area.
Have the ability to roll dice in the collection to preview them without automatically selecting the dice.
Maybe have a dice collection page that is also a tab in the user's dropdown so that it's quicker to get to same as the campaigns/characters.
Character Page:
As others have mentioned most recently by Sgtteddybear34 (March 27th, 2024) and DtechMonger (May 21st, 2024) it would be great if we could have the ability to set a default dice set, but also if you wanted to have different dice per character, similar to the character sheet options.
It's clear that feats now currently have subcategories - i.e. Fighting Styles, Origin, Homebrew etc. This gives us nice separation within the dropdown, or select menus - but it also presumably allows a degree of categorisation when it comes to what can be taken when.
I would like to request we can sub-categorise our Homebrew Feats - to allow us a range of options to order and categorise them. I.e. Homebrew-Origin, Homebrew-Fighting Style etc.
Whilst it would be nice for these to mirror the functionality of the existing Origin and Fighting Style feats (i.e. appear as valid options where they do) just having the means of separating them out in the dropdowns would be good enough.
Additionally - if there were more non-functional options to help categorise feats - that would be fantastic. I.e. Manoeuvres, Invocations, Boons, Dark Gifts etc. I would not expect these to mirror the functionality (as they're kind of shoe horned in) but would help players to see what is available, and help DM's to separate out their homebrew Content.
It looks like the feats aren't categorised this way in DDB yet, so while it's a good request, let them add the categories to the official feats first haha

Playing high charisma characters with no real life charisma - the only fantasy that still eludes me.
I think this would be best set in the character sheet, perhaps under a shop option.
It might be a good thing to implement with maps or the new tabletop, as a DM can add items available to a shop, and players can 1-click buy from it. As long as there's a way for DMs to batch-add items, it'll be solid.
Additionally, more item categorisation is needed. The current filters aren't sufficient for browsing as there are too many wondrous items available these days. More filter types would be great, and especially a filter to remove items that you can't use, such as ones that need attunement from specific classes

I don't know if this is already been suggested or is even feasible but often I have actions or attacks that trigger several different Feats and class features and it can be hard to keep track of which ones I have or haven't added or used even when I have custom actions and things set up for those additional features, it would be nice to be able to link features to actions or attacks, perhaps even using the existing custom/edit action menu ,so that when they are performed a small pop up or list would show which features you've linked or tagged and maybe even as a checklist so that once you use it you can check it off to keep track of which things have or haven't been completed. Maybe have them default to just the names of the feats or features but able to expand or utilize the sidebar similar to clicking them in the sheet. That way you can check what they are adding or that you meet the conditions to use it. I can see it in my head and I think it could be a versatile tool for classes and players that do an action often with several preconditions and modifiers. Interested to hear any thoughts about it.
Id like this too. We have ongoing campaigns to finish that won't be converted to 2024, and the new rules will create confusion for some players in our campaign.

Now that the new handbook is out, can we be able to homebrew Weapon Mastery options?

Think about it.
Can we get a toggle for the 2024 rules like there is for the Legacy? The new stuff just creates clutter and bloat and I don't want to see any of it.

Make a "hide 2024 content" toggle
And for those who wish to hide the 2014 content I think it goes under the legacy toggle so just uncheck that.
