Meanwhile, I may add in a feature that I would sorely like for the character screen in particular: Let us tag characters and filter by those tags. Being able to tag characters as 'pregen' or 'Adventurer's League' or 'Tier 1' would be incredibly helpful for those of us who have a lot of characters. (And generating pregens for campaigns will see them add up fast!)
Can you add other Unearthed Arcana content? You added the Artificer, how about some of the other UA items? Wizards wants us to playtest their optional content, I'd say the best way to do it is with D&D Beyond.
Don't know if this has already been suggested, but once the Encounter Builder had properly launched, would it be possible to get a random encounter generator (possibly with some pre-genned tables)?
So we could pre-load creatures we want to use to a table, then fill in party number/levels, click 'generate' and voila, that's your encounter, fully statted.
Honestly this has been the biggest bugbear of most users of said app. We use DDB primarily for character tracking, so it seems rather daft to *not* have that functionality on the app. I'm currently using FightClub5e to track my characters offline, and then having to upload changes to DDB when in network range.
Sorry if it has already been requested, but can we have a random NPC generator? It would be great if it was created as detailed as a regular playable character (stats, race, gender, name, physical traits, *background*, *flaws* etc.). And when that character was being created, it could draw from the pool of purchased character backgrounds and whatnot, possibly even homebrew content.
1. My top vote would be for an option to create mundane objects as well as the magical ones we can already homebrew. I would like for them to be able to modify stats also. It makes sense that an expensive, finely tailored suit might give a charisma boost or a magnifying glass would give a boost to Investigation.
2. I'd like an option for homebrew items to be worn on the face, like masks, war paint, or breath masks ( I hate making CON checks in the sewers). WoTC should take note too.
3. A menu item right alongside the others at the top about how to use the site. Sometimes I just don't know how to make something work and it would be nice not to wade through the forums or post a question and wait for an answer.

Thank you.
Option 1 is on the roadmap as part of the homebrew overhaul
Option 2 is not part of the D&D rules system and DDB doesn't have the rights to change the rules. As such, I wouldn't expect anything like this to be implemented
Option 3 should be resolved with the homebrew overhaul, where they change it from 'development tools but with a quick and dirty UI' to 'designed from the ground up to be user facing tools'
I would really, really like the ability for exclusion filters. The biggest one I want is to be able to be like "show me all monsters who are humanoids who do *NOT* have the NPC tag". As I have the Legendary Bundle, and because all NPCs given statblocks in adventures are now listed as separate creatures, my monster searches are absolutely flooded with NPCs, many of which have identical statblocks from one-another (how many named Veterans and Mages are there??)
I feel like it's extremely important to be able to differentiate generic monsters versus the multitude of specific NPCs. It's a big frustration for me.
I would also love to be able to, for instance, look at all spells that *aren't* on a class's spell list. Perhaps I am making a homebrew Warlock patron and I want to think about spells I can add to the Extended Spell List, or a Cleric's Domain Spells and want to make sure I'm adding some that aren't already Cleric spells.
I don't recall where exactly the bulk of the requests for the granular sharing went, and I don't remember seeing an update saying this had gone into effect, but I wanted to say thank you for implementing it. I would still like for it to be more specific to different parts of the books, but the ability to exclude access to the books is important to me and I wasn't kidding when I said I would put down more money once it was available. I placed an order for an additional $171 in books yesterday when I noticed it was in place.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop putting so much info in the search results for each entry - you literally spoil entire campaign books by returning the first two sentences of some chapters based on specific keywords. That's my only other issue. Make them hidden behind a spoiler tag if you really want to still display them.
When I create a campaign, I would like the option to choose which races, subraces, classes, special features and backgrounds that are available for my campaign.
Then players who create their character within the campaign, can only pick viable options.

Add the ability to scan in books you have bought in real life.
That is 100% never happening because books don't have unique identifiers and WotC (who publish the book), your gaming store who sells the book and DDB are all different companies.
It would be awesome if the bonus damage the barbarian Rage gives you could be added automatically to your weapons when you toggle it on on the character sheet.

I would love if DnDBeyond included page references for where to find each section in the print version of each source.
As a DMsGuild creator it would be very useful to me as I own my D&D books on DnDBeyond but want to be able to help players who own the hard copies find the rules I'm referencing. I can't do that if I don't know where they are.
As a DM it would be useful for similar reasons: I might be able to find a rule on DnDBeyond but if my player wants to read in their own book at the table or at home, I could tell them where to find the information.

It actually already has that for the most part. If you go to the page of something, it should tell you in the bottom right-hand corner where the source is. For example, the babau says that it can be found in Volo's Guide to Monsters, pg. 136 while the Wheel of Stars can be found in Acquisitions Incorporated , pg. 222.

Any word on if we are going to be able to make gestalt characters?
What are shape characters?
Check out all my important links here.
May we live in Less Interesting Times

a dark mode or night mode would be a great addition to this site

Just my two cents.

If it hasn't been mentioned already a CR calculator for homebrew monsters would be great
