D&D Beyond has done an amazing thing. They have added tools and extensions to make D&D easier for all. However, I have noticed missing backgrounds in the backgrounds section.
These are all backgrounds that are in the Players Handbook but are not in the Basic Rules nor in the SRD. Only content from the Basic Rules, SRD, and Elemental Evil Players companion is available for free here. Everything else must be purchased or homebrewed. You can purchase individual backgrounds, a bundle of all backgrounds, or the entire PHB. (Or, as I said, you can homebrew backgrounds)
There are so many people who have somehow never discovered at least a third of this site. If you had checked the feat compendium, ut would have taken you to the marketplace. If you had checked the digital PHB, it would have taken you to the marketplace. If you had checked the marketplace, you would have found your missing feats for sale. If you had gone to the forums, you would have seen pinned threads discussing the marketplace (you would have had to go to bug or general section though since "feedback" is not where this subject belongs).
But instead you skipped straight from the free character builder straight to complaining it doesn't have the stuff from the not free book.
This probably sounds mean, but I don't intend it to be. Just nobody tries to figure anything out for themselves. And the same questions keep being asked, and the same answers keep being given (which is why there is a FAQ, that no one reads).
Creations menu above. Homebrew section on the right of that menu. Create Background. Fill in the fields. You don’t have to publish it for private use. Indeed, you can’t publish PHB Backgrounds

Most people figure it out for themselves, but we never hear about them because they don't need to post in the forums about it.
The physical essentials kit includes a rulebook, which has character creation rules that are even more minimalist than the basic rules. For some reason, this rulebook includes the entertainer background that isn't in the basic rules.
Until this gets straightened out you'll have to homebrew a copy of the entertainer background if you want to use it on the site, or you could pick up a copy of the phb if you're going to get it anyway.
I have had no issues with finding these Backgrounds but they don't seem to be supporting the alternate background features that appear in BG:DiA. They are however supporting the new background Faceless.
They've said that they don't yet have an elegant way to support the alternate background feature that wouldn't clog up the character builder. The two suggested options are:
Copy an existing background using homebrew and then paste in the DiA feature and use that.
Use the standard background and copy the DiA details into your character sheet.
The Faceless doesn't have any alternate features, so it was added as-is.

Ok I bought the essentials kit and entertainer is in it but not on here
Most people figure it out for themselves, but we never hear about them because they don't need to post in the forums about it.
The essentials kit (*on DDB) does not contain any backgrounds.
The entertainer is in the PHB.
