DDB only supports official 5e material, if WotC ever releases a 5e beyond 20th level book then we would likely get access to go beyond 20th level on DDB, but until that day happens we can't (using a single character sheet).
Yeah, it's important to note that any level past 20 is pure homebrew modifications to the core rules system and so not supported by DDB. DDB allows homebrew within the rules of D&D, but not homebrew modifying those rules themselves.
The only official support for D&D 5E is in the form of gaining an Epic Boon for every 30,000 xp you gain beyond 20th level (355,000 xp). I have seen talk in the DEV videos that they will be adding Epic Boons, Blessings, and Charms to DnDBeyond some time. I believe they are on the Timeline.
agreed there's no supported way to have a character at level 21+, but you can continue to earn xp beyond 355,000 (level 20)
I can't for the life of me figure out how to increase xp in dndbeyond higher than 355,000
It seems there is a hard cap. Anyone figured a workaround?
The XP system on here is only for levelling, once you're 20 you no longer level so there is no reason to track XP this way. Even by RAW you no longer track XP as an ever incremental value, instead tracking only per 30,000 XP earned to trade in for an Epic Boon/ASI/Feat.
XP is only necessary to be tracked after 20th level if the DM plans to continue with XP-based rewards for determining when to hand out an Epic Boon/ASI/Feat, and many don't. By this point you're facing encounters and threats that are no longer properly managed by CR. Most switch to session-based or milestone-based advancement. However, if you do wish to track XP then you can always add this in the Notes field - and being aware you're tracking 0 to 30k XP, get reward, reset to 0, continue cycle. This XP earned no longer attributes to character level, which is why it is separate.

As the title states, my question is: does the software support Epic Level Character advancement?
If I have a 27th level Character I want to input into the system, does the software fully support it?
No.

Nope. DDB only goes as high as official rules allow. They will be working on the epic boon system soon though.
