Bump. I was playing Sunday on an iffy internet connection, and experienced four (or five?) failures. I presume these create log entries for developers, next time the web app reconnects? I suspect this happen quite a bit, to quite a few users..
Went to a D&D event with my iPad and phone. Could not get a signal on my devices in that area of the city, and D&D Beyond shit the bed on me.
There is no reason this issue should be going on TWO YEARS with no resolution. Being able to use your character sheet on a device is core functionality for this productand the situation of having spotty cell signal is not some kind of rare unicorn event. (I live in a major city, so I figure it's much worse for those in rural places.)
I have been happy with the features of D&D Beyond, but if it isn't going to be there reliably what good is it? If I have to print and bring paper character sheets with me everywhere ANYWAY, just in case, then what's the point?
Pardon if I'm testy, but running into this issue after traveling 1.5 to 2 hours to get to a game is infuriating.
It's well into 2020 and when I search "dndbeyond offline character sheets" This page is a top hit. I will continue to search to see it was ever delivered. If it was, it really should be noted here to close this thread.
I just had a great experience with my virtual group with the website, Roll20, and beyond20. I love the character sheets. However, when the stay at home orders are lifted, most of my play is Adventure League at a game shop without WiFi. Having the character sheets available is the only thing causing me to pause in my giving you some money. I currently only use the free version, although my DM has purchased your online resources.

An alpha of the new character sheet app has started: select subscribers who applied for the alpha are testing it. Once it hits beta it will be available to everyone. Not sure when that will be, but it's closer than it used to be.

Still alpha? Any update on the release date of the beta? Thanks. I am using the free character sheets for D&D Live and really enjoying it. Here in Pennsylvania we are getting close to the stay at home orders being relaxed. We are close to Philadelphia, so we are one of the last counties to go to green in PA. Hopefully, in-person gaming can resume in mid to late July.

Only that the hang up is getting the beta apps cleared by the app stores, with strong hints that the Apple app store in particular is the issue.
Thank you, I appreciate it

We are approaching 2 years on this post. This feature must be pretty far down the list. That is disheartening.
If you look at D&D Beyond Feature Roadmap you will see that it is in active development (and has been for a couple of months now)
The roadmap will give you an idea of where things are in the development/planning cycle, and you can get more information on the Thursday Dev Updates.
How to add Tooltips
Great! Thank you.

Thank you. I will keep a look out. I have both Android and Apple devices in case one releases before the other.
