As I am currently using DDB plus Roll20 to play the Curse of Strahd campaign with my group I noticed that three magic items are missing in the DDB database, because they were actually never given a name in the module...
Roll20 has given each of these items a name and is listing them as magic items. Would it be possible to also include these magic items in DDB?
I know that I could just "simply" create them as homebrew content, so my players can add them to their character sheets and use them, but as I see it as a good solution for the whole community, I wanted to request to let them be included in the official database.
The magic items are as follows (names adapted from Roll20):
Shield of the Silver Dragon (Chapter 4, K41. Treasury)
This +2 shield emblazoned with a stylized silver dragon that is the emblem of the Order of the Silver Dragon. The shield whispers warnings to its bearer, granting a +2 bonus to initiative if the bearer isn’t incapacitated.
Crusading Shortsword (Chapter 4, 74h. Lost Sword)
This is a sentient lawful good +1 shortsword (Intelligence 11, Wisdom 13, Charisma 13). It has hearing and normal vision out to a range of 120 feet. It communicates by transmitting emotion to the creature carrying or wielding it.
The sword’s purpose is to fight evil. The sword has the following additional properties:
The sword continually sheds bright light in a 15-foot radius and dim light for an additional 15 feet. Only by destroying the sword can this light be extinguished.
A lawful good creature can attune itself to the sword in 1 minute.
While attuned to the weapon, the sword’s wielder can use the sword to cast the crusader’s mantle spell. Once used, this property of the sword can’t be used again until the next dawn.
Treebane (Chapter 14, Y4. Gulthias Tree)
This axe's handle is carved with leaves and vines, and the weapon weighs half as much as a normal battleaxe. When the axe hits a plant, whether an ordinary plant or a plant creature, the target takes an extra 1d8 slashing damage. When a creature of non-good alignment wields the axe, it sprouts thorns whenever its wielder makes an attack with it. These thorns prick the wielder for 1 piercing damage after the attack is made, and this damage is considered magical.

Moved from Bugs & Support to D&D Beyond Feedback
Seconded. D&D Beyond is supposed to make things easier for us. And I paid for the campaign, which I understood was supposed to include all the magic items in the adventure.
I discussed this with the Game Content team, and it was determined that we are unable to add these items - they don't have official names and are missing rarities. I cannot attest to what roll20 does, but we ensure that we match the material as closely as possible - which means we cannot add a magic item (or any element) unless all of the sufficient details are provided.

Does this mean that every person running this campaign is going to have to homebrew a published item?

The CoS adventure doesn't detail the item like other adventures do. The names in the OP above are not official names. The items are not listed properly. They are missing a lot of the information that would make them official items - since D&D do not want to "make stuff up" to fix that - yes, you are going to have to homebrew them.
Do note the Marketplace page for the CoS adventure specifically detailed what magic items are unlocked in the section specially named Magic Items. It's not like you were misled.

Well, not necessarily. If any one person publishes it, anyone with a subscription can add it to their collection. Only one person needs to homebrew it. Since it isn’t “an official item” I guess nobody can complain if someone publishes it.

Publishing homebrew isn't just about whether it's an official, unlockable item on the service, it's also about whether it is copyrighted. Which, the text is. Copying the details as is, adding name and rarity and sharing publically without permission from WotC or D&D beyond is a violation.
You can indeed homebrew it for private use and it will be automatically shared with anyone in your campaign, no subscriptions required.

In your opinion.
Clearly WOTC would not give two shits.
Their lawyers can't even stop the well known website which publishes every single 5e D&D product for free.... So no they wouldn't give a shit about one person publishing one item that they did not even name...
I'm trying to say D&D Beyond would remove it, rather than lawyers coming after you.

Thanks for the feedback - I've passed this request over to our Game Content team for further review.
this item for some reason is still missing...
Probably because the team responsible for adding it in hasn't got round to it yet

Yeah, they never confirmed they would take action. 🤷

Name and rarity.
The names in the OP are taken from Roll20 who made them up.
D&D Beyond have evidently decided that this is enough missing data to not make it a separate item.
