Xanathar's has a chapter which is a series of tables for coming up with your character's history -- you can roll for things like how many siblings you have, who your parents were (especially useful for races like half-elf or tiefling), family members' status (are some dead or missing, do you not get on with a sibling, etc). It also helps you build a reason for why you became whatever class you start out with, and why you have whatever (PHB) background you have. You can either use the tables for inspiration, or just roll if you just need *something.* So I can go 'I've got a Paladin, but no idea why he's a Paladin instead of a fighter, other than I like smiting things.' Then when you start rolling things you find out that he had two older siblings, both merchants, who he didn't get on with, and they died before they could reconcile, and he's trying to make amends/get vengeance/whatever works best for your subclass.
So I was wondering when you buy xanathars guide it says on the feautures: • A brand new system to give your characters a unique and new backstory
what system is it? can someone share a screenshot of that?
also on tasha digital dice and portraits you get there is any way to see a preview? somewhere?
and there are other books with special feautres like thoose two?
thank you
