In my group my friends all like to team up on my character and kill them, it doesn't happen all the time but i was wondering if there was any super tanky character builds so i can stop having to create new characters every other session?

All men can see the tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved.
One word for you: bladesinger. If you have 20 INT and 16 DEX at level 7, plus mage armor and shield, that's 26 AC total, and 21 passive.

All stars fade. Some stars forever fall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homebrew (Mostly Outdated):Magic Items,Monsters,Spells,Subclasses ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there was no light, people wouldn't fear the dark.
Level 3 battle master fighter with the Parry maneuver and the Defense fighting style.
Level 2 artificer with the Enhanced Defense infusion.
Level 2 paladin with the Shield of Faith spell.
Assuming your DM allows you to start with an uncommon magic item, get +1 plate mail. If your DM says you can't start with plate mail, start with chain mail. Also, get a shield.
Unfortunately, the Defensive Duelist feat is useless here, with the Parry maneuver being as it is. Being able to add a d8 is better than adding 3.
At your most powerful form, you would be at an AC of 33.
Without the armor being magic or plate, it would be 30.
Disclaimer: If you rolled the least amount possible for the Parry, you would have 26 (23) AC instead. There is also no guarantee that this character will be at all effective besides being impossible to hit.
Keep it simple, go Artificer (Armorer or Battlesmith) and make sure to pick up a couple of defensive spells. Slightly more complex, go 1 level of Artificer for the armor proficiencies then switch to War Magic Wizard and make sure to pick up a couple of defensive spells. War Magic helps a bunch with saves as well. In any case, stay out of the front line. I'm sure there are other, more specialized builds out there that might get even bigger numbers but I don't think that's worth it. Casters with defensive builds can contribute offensively and/or provide utility as much as any other caster not specifically built as a blaster or controller, non-casters often find it harder not to sacrifice too much if they really want to pump AC.

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
-Is a giant gorilla that can grapple every turn pretty much
Lvl 7 Elven Paladin (CH Good or neutral)
-Kinda new player
-Oath of Ancients but worships hades
-Not helpful
-Ac 18
Okay i tend to play CH Good characters while the rest are murder hobos pretty much, so when my character intervenes to stop them from murdering innocent people he gets ganged up on and killed within 2 turns of combat, I have had A lvl 8 Tiefling Bard (Lawful Good) get killed in 2 turns, He was killed when the gorilla and ranger killed some guards who where their to capture the gorilla for massacring an entire village. Lvl 7 Path of totem warrior Barbarian(CH Neutral) Killed in 3 turns, He died due to me fighting the gorilla once before, and then later in the game he killed my barbarian when he was low on health
I wish but he really doesn't care a whole lot, also the Ranger and The gorilla play with him in another campaign(They have a lot more friends that are veterans of dnd that they play with), but maybe i should just give up on being a good aligned character and just become an evil murder hobo...
I'm not really involved, so I can't say, but you should talk privately with your DM about this. Maybe you can come to some kind of understanding. Don't let them let the other players get special treatment just because they play with the DM in another campaign. And if this keeps up, you should leave.
I overlooked that. To be honest I don't think this is something that can be fixed by tanking up your next character, if it can be fixed at all. This is something to address outside the game.

“Out of character” problems can rarely be solved with “in character” methods. A conversation is usually best.
However....
I wouldn’t think to build a tank. I would think about building the stealthiest ninja ass mother lover I possibly could, make it an elf for Trance and offer to sit a double watch for the group, and then slit all of their characters’ throats while they were sleeping the first chance I got. Then, steal all their swag, and get super geared up for when they all return, and chuck the rest into a volcano.
But that’s the nuclear option and you may need new friends after that. Of course, if your friends keep picking on you, you may need new friends anyway? 🤷♂️ But definitely start with the conversation and see where that takes you.
Honestly. If you're having then that's great. But I have a sneaking suspecion t hat you might not be having fun. In that case, the right thing to do is to leave the group.

Yeah, but then i would have no one to play dnd with cause no one else around here plays DnD, i also dont have my own Computer to do roll20 and other things on, all i have is a school chromebook that is really strict on what allowed and not allowed

There's this saying: No D&D is better than bad D&D. But I understand your problem of wanting to play and not having other options. Like others said, I'd suggest a talk with the group. You don't want to sound whiny, but its very reasonable to ask the other players not to kill your character -- that's pretty much the baseline in every campaign. If you can't find anyone else and can't go online, there's always fantasy novels. Or if you have a console, there's lots of RPGs there. They aren't quite D&D, but they can scratch that itch, maybe.

Tanky as in armor class or hp? It's not easy to do both.

To take a step back, here. Why are your friends teaming up on you? They're supposed to be on your side. Unless you guys do some kind of PvP game.
Thanks I will definitely try these out
