Okay so party consists of 1: knowledge Cleric Firbolg 2: Clockwork Soul Sorcerer Warforged 3: Fighter Warforged (wants to reach echo knight) 4: Tiefling Redemption Paladin
I am trying to figure out what i want for this, any advice from others on classes that would fill in empty parts in the party and classes that are fun in this module that we never played before? I am looking to have fun, I enjoy utility which is why i usually tilt towards things like casters since martial lacks fun toys most of the time and warlock is a fav of mine up there with sorc and wizard.
I am looking at eloquence bard focused on socials less musician more lawyer, Maybe a celestial warlock/divine sorc multiclass for the setting, or an artificer for once again the setting. Wanted to know everyone's opinions from their experience/advice in the module.
((edit))
if i got artificer, which subclass should i go for? Anything but alchemist obviously lol idk the way that archetype is done bothers me for some reason.
It looks like your party has tankiness and healing, and a bit of DPS pretty well covered. This is one of those times I would try to play a class I have never played before.
Otherwise a celestial warlock would be HIGHLY appropriate for the setting.
If you are thinking in terms of covering the classic "roles" (which is not strictly necessary), the missing one is rogue/skill monkey. So If that's your concern, I would suggest rogue, bard or artificer. I don't know specifics about Avernus (I know the general concept), so I don't have recommendations in that regard.
My first thought there was bard. Some great utility spells, inspiration for to throw around, good social skills, could even maybe pick up a thieves tool proficiency with your background if needed so someone can open locks and deal with traps. Could really round out the party. Or rogue, as mentioned above.
Yeah bard sadly is off my list, realized thinking about it every devil has magic resistance and good wisdom which hurts due to the sheer amount of wisdom save or suck spells the bard actually has.
i have come to debating on rogue or rogue, monk, ariticer, or divine sorlock (yes permission was granted, i never do these things without asking)
so rogue idk what sub i would choose just yet but i do own all the subclasses
Divine sorlock would be interesting as a aasimar
artificer could be fun since i heard a lot of “it is like mad max” with the warmachines and whatnot
