Why bother? Just use Beyond20 browser extension. Click on D&D Beyond character sheet to roll stuff in Roll20. Best of both worlds, takes seconds to set up, no issues.

Old subject, but relevant. There are many API scripts that only work if the token is associated with a sheet in Roll20. I can assure, it's a massive amount of features you miss out on without it.
Not everyone who uses Roll20 use D&D Beyond, so I've run into cases where the DM (despite getting a link to the D&D Beyond character) requests a Roll20 copy because it's easier for them to use.

Now, the reason is that dndbeyond could go down at any time - especially mid-session, several times.

This ongoing character sheet problem has completely stopped one of my sessions recently, and interfered with several others to the point where I made PDFs of all my players characters 'just in case' Copying them into Roll20 if that's what you're using for maps is way better than this, but a lot more effort. I'm not sure it'd be worth the time spent to put into Roll20 vs PDF + manual rolls, I think the importer tool thing is out of date (I haven't tried it though so I may be wrong).
For anyone trying to use the importer now, it appears the format of the JSON file has changed when you look at the RobinKuiper scripts. At a minimum the container that used to be called "character" it is now called "data".
This link seems to be to code that takes the character/data change into account
I heard that it can be done. I have paid memberships to both.

That is not my goal but Thank you for the response.
Weird, given that it's vastly superior to importing in every conceivable way.
But oh well. So I clicked the black Search button and entered roll20 import as keywords, and found [Roll20 Script] BeyondImporter - Import you DNDBeyond character into Roll20
Maybe that will be more like what you want?

Or maybe the intention is to import an adventure rather than just manage characters?

you just made all my D&D games easier
I make my sheet in DNDBeyond but like to roll in Roll20 with my Macro bar, i also like to add Gifs to the attacks for some extra flavor lol
Maybe they're trying to leave Dndbeyond?
How do you do this

I want to use my dnd beyond homebrew monsters while DMing in roll20.
Check Out my youtube videos - D&D5e Fundamentals and my regular Twitch Stream, Rolestream.
I am a professional Dungeon Master at Questbook. Rolestream Website www.rolestream.com
Elaborate please I am completely computer illiterate.
There is an API script called Beyond Importer, which requires a Pro account in Roll20.
You can find that here https://github.com/RobinKuiper/Roll20APIScripts/tree/master/BeyondImporter_5eOGL\
You would also need this link to translate your character from DndBeyond into a .json file. https://character-service.dndbeyond.com/character/v3/character/47382800

I have done one import which seemed 75%+ successful (some weird spell issues )
Do you still have to have a pro account??
I believe you do to use the API, which this requires.
Is there a way to export a purchased adventure from Beyond over to Roll20?
