Because of the predominance of the Variant Human, I disallow the race and instead give all characters a free feat at level 1. Is there a way to do this using the character builder? Otherwise we'll have to use another character sheet tool.
As it stands there is no way to add an extra feat, HOWEVER—BadEye, aka the product director of all DBB, has confirmed that adding extra feats (among other things) is part of an upcoming revamp.
Is there a thread or collection of threads I can look at to see what features are upcoming/planned? I've been looking around the forums for a bit and can't seem to find a comprehensive list of things, just brief mentions of things to come here and there. There's a ton of things I'd like to see on the site, from additional tools to new content, and I don't know if they're already in the works or not.

I would recommend the dev update streams on twitch.tv (dndbeyond channel). The next one is supposed to happen next Friday (source).
I might, but I don't have a whole lot of time for watching VODS, and can rarely catch streams when they happen, especially Friday and Saturday. Food Service jobs make for rough weekends lol. That's why a forum post or other codified list would be awesome; that way people could take a 5 min look through it and see a summary of what's coming.

Hello, I'm about to join DND Beyond. Has this happened yet?

There's no exact dates yet. I can't speak for the developers but I can't imagine it will be too long now.

And I cast Heroism on the community.
Some folks have created homebrew magic items to provide feat benefits in the meantime.

Gotcha. I saw the mock-up of the Character Sheet revamp shown a few months ago. Do you know if the rule-breaking functionality is connected to that?
I believe so, and the last rough estimate for the revamp that I'm aware of is Q1. I expect we might hear a little more this Friday at the live developer update - https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/d-d-beyond-feedback/11140-d-d-beyond-live-dev-update-q-a-stream-fri-19th-jan

Yes. A long time ago. Feats can be added or removed at will with the "Manage Feats" option in the character sheet.
Why you shouldn't start ANOTHER thread about DDB not giving away free redeems on your hardcopy book purchases.
