Crossing my fingers and hoping we hear something tomorrow!
lmao, we MIGHT have heard something during the dev update that was told to us on Tuesday it was happening on Thurs, and then on Thurs it was cancelled via tweet.
Sorry, I don't have a twitter account so don't know what is said there. Did they give a reason?
Again, lmao.
"Happy Thursday Adventurers! No Dev Update today...so let's take a look back at a demonstration of the newly released beta version of Encounters with
I'm actually wondering about this book/set. DDB hasn't said anything, it's not listed on Amazon from what I can tell, and it's due what, next week? TWBtW was preorderable on Amazon a month or two before release, and there's nothing for this? Seems...odd.

I've noticed this as well - my local game shop of choice doesn't have it available for preorder (in either version). Now, the boxed set seems to be showing up in the wild, so it must be getting shipped around.
Implementation of MotM will be interesting - will it be treated like errata? Will they put in the new versions alongside the old? Will they have a "toggle"? I just hope we get it when the gift set releases!
Strange, it's not.coming up on my searches on Amazon.co.uk.

Ah, thank you! It's silly though, I shouldn't have to look up the ISBN to find it on Amazon. Guess that's an Amazon thing and not a WotC thing, so there isn't a link between the two.

Or perhaps not. It's the only listing when searching the ISBN and it's by a dodgy seller (over a third of ratings in the last 30 days were negative, mostly complaining that the package never turned up, and at least one contacted the courier who said that it was never sent). It seems that none of WotCs legit vendors on Amazon (UK) are listing it...

I'm honestly wondering if DnD Beyond has been left high and dry on this one.
It should be noted that no digital platform is offering the book at this time; D&D Beyond, Fantasy Grounds, or roll20
That doesn't sound good, to be honest.
My tinfoil hat theory is that as WotC seems to be showing interest in their own digital service, they're going to slowly (or not so slowly) pull support from all the unofficial services. Eventually ending with them withdrawing the licence altogether.

God I hope not... I specifically started using DDB because I can use my help I got for my dyslexia with it, and the character creator makes stuff so much more handy.
I'm not sure this is a great data point for that theory.
More likely, they're using MMM to help drive sales of the expansion gift set, hence why they are not releasing it separately from the outset. Since that would be significantly undermined if it were available on DDB, they're delaying release on digital format until the book is available individually.
Still, if they do withdraw the licence, they'd better honour purchases and transfer them to whatever they're building. I could see a lot of angry faces if they just pull the plug.

Wizards wants people to buy the three-book bundle. Nobody wants the three-book bundle because everybody already has two of the three books. Wizards is gonna see how many people it can out-patience into buying the three-book bundle because they can wait longer to sell the individual book than people can wait to buy it. Gonna end up with a looot of extraneous copies of Xanathar's and Tasha's nobody actually cared about or wanted chucked in the bin or put up for five-dollar resale, which is a god damned waste.

If the bundle has the alt covers I might pick one up and donate my original copies of X's and T's to someone else, but that's very much an edge case scenario.

This is exactly what I am doing. So I am one of the suckers that WotC has made more money off of.

Don't blame DnD Beyond if we don't get the book yet. WoTC is scamming us by releasing a new book in a bundle and delaying it's stand alone launch.
Logistics of the updates inside the book are another topic. I personally hope we won't have to repurchase the material in the new book at full price.

I think it is a similar situation to Tashas, were DnDBeyond has to wait, for whatever reasons, before announcing it.
There they could advertise it only a week? before launch.

Man what is WotC doing? That's shady AF to only sell it it in a physical bundle despite the fact they have the ability to sell it digitally.
What year is this?
