My DM is allowing everyone to choose a single feat at level 1, as part of the homebrew. I can't seem to find where to add Feats in the character creation menu here? I want to add the Magic Initiate feat for my character sheet.
On the character sheet, there is a tab that says "Features and Traits" there should be a button that says "feats" You can click on that or you scroll down to the bottom of that tab you can see where your feats are and hit the button 'Manage Feats' to add a feat.
Both of those feats are the free content on Dndbeyond. In order to get the other feats, you'd need to buy or have shared with you the content from the books. For Magic Initiate the book would be the PHB (Players Hand Book).
You can make a homebrew version and use that instead. It takes some time, but it will save you the money. You can also buy the feat individually for $2. I've linked some articales about the difference between physical books and Dndbeyond as well as some basics for homebrew in my Bio. As for the individual purchase, I'll link you here

Ah, that would explain it, then. I already have a physical copy, not that interested in buying a digital version of something I already own.

In addition to feats, you also don't get access to many spells and subclasses unless you buy the books or the individual options from the books.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
