Just wondering if this is intended or if it's a known issue. I purchased the Sunless Citadel on it's own to run it as a one-shot and test out using DndBeyond as a DM. And I noticed 2-3 creatures I hovered over said I couldn't see it's stats without buying the MM.
I mean I'll probably just buy them from the MM for convenience, but is this how it's intended to be?
Yes, physical adventure books do not always include all stat blocks needed. The books state what is needed. Like in Curse of Strahd, it says the following:
I'd also like to point out that, with the exception of the three core books, WotC always reprints in the adventures modules monsters stats which appears in non-core books. As an example, many monsters in ToA appears in Volo's Guide to Monster, but with the purchase of ToA, you actually unlock those.

I'm sorry to reopen this issue. I have bought the Essentials Kit Bundle and the main adventure of DRAGON OF ICESPIRE PEAK has many magic items and monsters stats blocked :

etc
Is this an issue or a trap ?
In this case, it looks like it is a tagging/permissions issue. The monsters you list are not part of the free rules, but they are reprinted in DOIP (the Creatures "chapter"), so you should have access to them. In the locations where they are mentioned, either the tagging is pointing to the wrong entry or (more likely) there was an oversight in giving DOIP purchasers permission to see those Monster Manual monsters.
I don't see a section for magic items in the compendium, but that's probably because in the print edition these are on magic item cards and not in the book. DDB didn't reproduce the "cards" from DOIP. I'm guessing that the right people didn't realize that some of those magic items are not in the Basic Rules and therefore needed to be included in the permissions for DOIP purchasers.
Hello,

Yes. It is like it is for hardcover books.

The adventures on here work on the same precedent.
Yeah, not ideal, and arguably not a "nice guy move", but this is WotC's decision, not Curse/Twitch/D&D Beyond's.
I'd also like to point out that, with the exception of the three core books, WotC always reprints in the adventures modules monsters stats which appears in non-core books. Good to know, thanks for clearing that up :)
I'm sorry to reopen this issue. I have bought the Essentials Kit Bundle and the main adventure of DRAGON OF ICESPIRE PEAK has many magic items and monsters stats blocked :
for example,
* on https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/doip/butterskull-ranch for cow stats block it asks to unlock "Volo's Guide to Monsters"
* on https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/doip/woodland-manse for vine stats block it asks to unlock "Monster Manual"
same problem for many magic items:
for example,
* potion of Invulnerability in Circle of Thunder -> asks for "Dungeon Master's Guide"
* lute of Illusions -> asks for "XGE"
etc
