Do you know any nice online service where I could generate my character sheets? I like the idea that I can simply share my sheet with my group with a URL in an email, especially when I can't join for a session, then they have easy access to all my character data.

Google Docs and Google Sheets are specifically intended for this purpose.
Unless I miss something, I don't think there is a character generator in Google Doc... something similar to what D&D Beyond offers. It's not just about sharing a static sheet, I want to dynamically keep it updated in real time, as I play. I use HeroForge (which is an Excel sheet) to create a PDF version of my sheet that I then distribute via DropBox, but thag is a static type of sheet, not really designed to use as we play. I'd like to update my sheet as I play so it is always up to date. This is why I came here. I like the DDB layout and it does what I want, but we still use the 3.5 edition...
This is why I was asking about character generator apps or websites, I've seen quite a few in the Google Play Store, but if anyone has had a good experience with a specific one that is compatible with 3.5, I'd appreciate getting a tip.
I, unfortunately, don't know of any app that can do that for you however if you spend some time you can do it with... SPREADSHEETS! With some relatively basic spreadsheet programming you can make everything auto-updated based on values that you put into it. There are tutorials for it online that you could look up for google docs. Again, not exactly what you wanted but if you have time for it it is a solution you can use and implement with as many character sheets as you want.
There's way too much content for 3.5. No one's digitized it all into a functional character builder, no. I've been hunting for such a thing for close to a decade.
Thanks for confirming my suspicions... I guess I'll have to stick to the old static/printed Excel worksheet I've been using (it does have a lot of stuff, like most realms--Forgotten Realms, Eberron, Greyhawk, DragonLance, etc.-- and related classes/monsters manuals sources and other sources like the "Complete..." manuals) and wait until we transfer to the 5th ed... but my friends have a negative perception of the 5th edition, so unless I play with other people, I'll die playing the 3.5 ed!
Lol, thanks, that's the exact one I've been using for years... I managed to tweak it for my Monk/Lycanthrope/Moonchild Ravenloft character...
I was looking for an interactive mobile tool that can be updated on the fly while playing (without having to have my computer in front of me), like the D&D Beyond Character sheet that can be used on a mobile phone. But apparently there aren't any for the 3.5 edition. I've been also using the Roll 20 tools, they do have a mobile app for character sheets, but, again only for the 5th edition. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, those apps started to appear long after 3.5 was relevant.
I am a bit late to this party, but you might want to check out myth-weavers.com
They have character sheet templates for tons of different systems including DnD Basic, 2, 3.5, 4, and 5. Since I use DnD Beyond as a Free To Play site, when I run out of space I build characters overthere.
I have also personally built Pathfinder sheets over there...but I am not familiar with any of the other systems to try out the other templates.
My query comes from the fact that I was trying to create a Character Sheet for my 3.5e Monk who has the Lycanthropy template applied and who has Moonchild levels (a Ravenloft class)... Moonchild is a particular class. It applies only to a character that was bitten by a lycanthrope, and then it "disappears" once you attain the top level (there are only 5 levels, we customized down to 3 to make it faster) because at that point the character is a true Lycanthrope, i.e. it has its own scent, can create a clan and is in full control. So the Moonchild levels/feats no longer apply, but the stat gained when going through the Moonchild levels remain... It is a little complex, lol... For example, my Monk is level 6, but has 92 HP, has 22 AC while naked, etc.
But I think it is too complicated so I'll stick to my static PDF version from HeroForge... :-)
The main thing I was asking about though was about having a dynamic Character Sheet like DDB offers, I would love to play with my character sheet on my phone and update it on the fly as the game evolves. But for the 3.5e it seems there isn't really one...
Still played advanced but never wanted to go further. Until my new group started using 5e.
If I wanted that much complexity I would have went to MERP/rolemaster and used the excel spread sheets available for character generation. Though I did like how most spells progressed in power by your level.
With all the class and other updates 5e is starting to get that complex.
Can I use the D&D Beyond character builder to create a character based on the 3.5 rules?
No. DDB is 5E only. It can't build a character from 3.5 Edition, 4th Edition, 2nd Edition, Basic D&D, or any other edition of the game.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Ah, too bad! Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I know Google Doc...

That's what I figured out as well by now...

Try this one. You'll need to download it, though.

What classes, feats or weapons are you trying to update to dnd 5e?
I'm currently working on the Swordsage from tomb of battle book of 9 swords.

Probably because 3.5 was ludicrously complex in the sheer number of different options it had.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.

3.5 is when I gave up on D&D.
