Yes yes yes!! Like that! I was hoping for that! Okay, so I’m not hallucinating and none of that is in there. I…am going to have to create three worlds from the ground up. Okay. I’m a new DM, but I….will do my best.
I want to make a whole campaign with space clowns, but am I stupid or did we get zero information about the three ringed worlds and an expansion of the origin of Thrill Joy as well as the name of the god they worshipped? It's not in there, right?? I keep looking for it but find nothing. You know how Witchlight had all those world descriptions? Like that, but for the space clown world. Did they not do that??
From what I recall looking through the books, we don't get a lot on information on specific Wildspace systems in general. A few are featured in the adventure module, but you'd think there would at least be a summary of some key ones in the Astral Adventurer's Guide like how Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft had info on a bunch of Domains of Dread and rules on how to make your own custom Domain of Dread.
We get info on exactly 2; and neither are very substantial in and of themselves either.
I consolidated the 2e Spelljammer system tables into a single document, if anyone wants to use them in order to create their own wildspace systems. I will say, I made a couple changes to line them up with the new 5e lore a little, but I do mean only a couple. Multi-star instead of nested spheres, for example.
Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
I really like this product. I see it as primarily an adventure with enough setting to run the adventure. And I love it. I would love more though. The price point at $70 is too high but I was okay with the $42 I paid through Amazon.

The problem is it being an "adventure with enough setting to run the adventure" is not how it was advertised. It was advertised to be a setting like Eberron, Ravnica, Theros, etc, that also included an adventure as part of the package.

I deal with the reality and not how it’s advertised.

To put it another way, a number of people probably wouldn't have spent money on this if they knew it'd have the amount of content about spelljamming and Wildspace that it did. I would have gotten it myself regardless, because it gives me additional stuff to work with for the Astral Sea, but I also recognize why folks would be disappointed or livid.
I enjoy the races in the new Spelljammer but I feel like the connective tissue for it to be a setting is absent. Some basic information like an atlas or gazeteer would be very helpful. The original setting had lore, helpful tables to make a new system and made the setting vibrant. I just feel like the 5e version doesn't hold up well as a campaign setting. There ship section is also lacking and it seems like you need to go to Saltmarsh and Avernes to supplement the ship rules to make it work. Overall I am not very satisfied with Spelljammer and would only give it a 3 out of 5. I still think it can be used for a fun adventure, but if you wanted to branch off from the one provided you might be in trouble.

Well, that's just par for the course with Wizards D&D products, really. What they are, and what they say they are, rarely line up. No one should ever preorder anything, least of all from Wizards, unless they'll literally enjoy it no matter what it turns out to be.
The internet is great for learning what these books really are before you buy them. And a lot of them are really good! If you do your research, you'll rarely be disappointed. I just wish they were more... I'm not gonna say honest, but accurate? Yeah, let's go with that.

I understand why people can be disappointed but I was just giving my impression of the product.
Looking at the price a little closer it’s not a bad deal. I know we all wanted more but let’s look at this a little closer. Even at MSRP of $70 let’s assume $10 for the DM screen. That leave $20 per book. Not bad. I got mine for $42 off Amazon. Let’s just say $5 for the screen. That’s leaves each book at around $12 each. That’s a great deal I think. I know others will disagree but that’s ok. :)

The problem is, Amazon has heavily discounted things and it's not the price most people actually payed. It's also a lot lower now than it was for things like preorder or a bit after it was released. Amazon usually prices books around $23-$30 dollars, and the three "books" essentially add up to 1 in terms of quality & quantity. So that means that they put the DM screen in for $12-$19 dollars, which is still a stretch of how much it should be worth.

Even MSRP isn’t bad. $60 for all three books (assuming $10 for the screen) is a little more than a normal book at $50 but it like it’s worth it to have them in three separate books.

A) Exactly how how is "3 seperate books!" a selling point if you have to buy them all as a unit anyway?
B) It doesn't matter how affordable/extortionate the books are if their contents aren't very good to begin with.
C) 10 freedom bucks for a glorified piece of card-stock!?

I think what this will do, if anything, is discourage more people from pre-ordering these products and instead wait for reviews. Which you could argue is what they should have done anyway, but still.

I mean I can see it as a marketing thing. Three D&D books for 60 dollars! That sounds like an amazing deal!
That you can't buy them individually at all and they all add up to the size of one normal book aren't things you're going to put at the top of your marketing pitch.
Sort of like how there was a controversy a while back with clothing stores selling things half off that were never intended to be sold at MSRP to begin with. The perceived value has a psychological benefit for marketing, even if on closer analysis there isn't necessarily any objective value to be gained.
All I'll say is that I hope they put in more effort with Planescape than what they apparently put in here.
That's the only future 5e product I know of that I have any real emotional investment in.
Yeah, prepare to be disappointed. After the last few releases, and the general"less lore" approach, I can't see how the Planescape could actually end up being good.

2) I liked the content
